Have you seen the pay for an ordinary actor – Day rate $1082, 3 days $2741 and weekly $3756. This is not for the stars, this is for a non speaking extra!
Since the quality of stories has gone downhill over the past 15 years or more, this is actually an improvement. If they start getting away from the “Daddy’s Stupid” and “Men Bad” and “Zero Sum” (i.e. one person has to be the good person, smart person, etc. at the expense of the other instead of also writing stories of people working together to get things done) tropes then perhaps their stories will get better and people will care.
From these comments we can see a lot of people only watch trash network channels and believe that tv and cinema is reality tv and marvel universe films. If they had half a brain they would know that there are a lot of brilliant tv shows out there (more than good films these days, yes, those are dwindling).
And most importantly, they would know that if the strike fails all they’ll get is kardashians, singing or dating contests and halfwits buying or selling things on tv. But it’s possible that’s what they really like and wish series like Chernobyl never existed.
Watch out, we may end up with CGI actors created and scripted by AI — Yikes! Have you seen the horribly bad “Trump vs the Illuminati”? Ugh, that would be the end of TV.
“Strike”? There’s a strike? Oh! What ever should I do? All my shows are reruns! Oh the humanity! I’ll just die! My life is over! Call the undertaker! Geez!
Okay everyone, I have one word for you. Audible. Books read to you and all the images created in the privacy of your own mind. You may never watch TV or go to a movie (based on a BOOK) again.
Get use to it! If those over-feed PIGS who run the studios have their way…this, with A.I. generated meat-puppets, would be all we get! (& reality shows!)

Actually, with the writers strike, the story would be worse.

This looks like riveting programming.

Judging from the general tone of these comments we’re witnessing “what if we gave a strike and nobody cared”.

The longer they stay on strike, the less chance we’ll see some more of the stupid shows they write.

I can watch the reruns of the shows I never watched the first time.

A-list actors are being allowed to film during the strike. Some union.

If you want to support the strikers and help end the strike earlier, then turn off the TV and quit watching scab programs.

People with the wit to enjoy and understand comics on the internet don’t need Hollywood or TV.

Looks more entertaining than most of what little TV I’ve watched in the past 20 years or so. Admittedly that’s very little…

Netflix’s latest offering. They dropped 10 episodes of it to streaming.

Too many reruns of the last century already. Other than sports and some news stations, there is very little to watch as it is.

Anyone else see the humor in the STRIKING of a Match to light it and then putting it on tv during a strike?

Pay the writers. And the actors. And the rest of the crews.
