One irresponsible mistress is as good as the next

One blonde in a comfy bed is just as good as another, huh?

No worries, Luann.

So Puddles has abandoned his long time companion and caregiver and sleeps the sleep of the innocent while his whole life to this point has collapsed. Yeah… NO!

Luann can get another dog. But this is so sad.

Doesn’t Tiffany sleep in the top bunk of a bunk bed? Is itgood or smart to have a dog sleeping on the top bunk since they generally don;t understand things like heights. Also Tiffany worried about another “accident” from the little hot dog?

It’s obvious that this arc is being played out in comic strip fashion. If we were to believe Puds has emotionally linked himself to Tiffany there would be some indication than lust a face lick and wiping up some dog urine.

And what’s to be gained by pitting an enamored Tiffany against Luann in a spat over another male.

What are they gonna do? Share the dog? He’ll need a dog whisperer to maintain his doggy paschic balance!

This is kind of a disappointing arc so far. 8^ (

Just wait until Puddles finds out that Tiffany is a sleep farter.

Years ago, Tiffany was one dimensional and arguably the least interesting in the Luann cast. Lately she’s become the most interesting – a real person – for better or for worse.

At least someone is getting some sleep.

Says something about Tiff as a person since Puds cozied up to her. Dogs have a sense about weather a person is good or not.

How’s this for the impact of tone and mood in Greg’s drawing and the excellent job by the colorist. Puddles is actually a really weird looking dog

If Puddles is registered with a microchip, they need to return Puddles.

Nearly 37 years of strips, and Tiffany has never seen Puddles? He’s even drawn exactly the same, so he should be pretty recognizable. “Oh, that’s Pud. He’s that weird 80’s-style dog.”

Desdemona, Bets, and Stefani Bird are missing out.

I bet that Oxford likes dogs?

Maybe Tiffany will take Puddles to the Farrell Mansion?

For all those complaining about how long this story is taking, expect another week of it—at least!!

Me, I like this story line. It’s kinda like divorcing couples arguing over who gets custody of the kids.

I wonder if they’ll all end up in court.

That is what happens Luann when not once have we seen you trying to pound pavement looking for Pud.

You should be going to animal control 3x per week. Continuing to put up posters and talking to people like mail carriers and asking for anouncements, stating that there is a reward (the bigger the better) in churchs and schools nearby. You need 5×7 cards with the info to hand out and you need to be calling all vet clinics and animal ER facilities nearby and faxing posters with the reward. Don’t forget grocery stores and any place people gather near the park and your home and of course common and shopping areas and Universities and businesses. Leave food and water out in case he tries to make it home. Talk to neighbors. Lets not forget all the listings – tons of sites for lost Pets and Craig’s List. Check all rescues. We Certainly have seen you do nothing but whine. You were at the park Sunday andnever mentioned Pud – and as a person forced to euthanize unclaimed animals at overloaded shelters -Luann – I resent that!!!!

Poor Luann. She’s really crushed for her beloved Puddles♡. Luckily, he has found a way to be happy. On the other hand, it’s funny. Luann and Tiffany have fallen in love with the same guy so many times, now they are both loved by Puddles, who probably sees the two to be very similar. I believe in Tiffany and that, once she knows he’s Luann’s dog, she will return him to her. Then, the two will finally become friend for real.

This plot line is dragging out way too long.

This is why their dorm needs an RA on the floor. Betniece, go back.

“And next time I take you to the dog park I promise to look at you sometimes instead of just talking with Jack.”

Call your friends and ask if they have seen your dog.

Still not surprised that Tiff didn’t recognize the dog as belonging to Luann. She may have matured a little, but she is still much more interested in herself to notice. I still think it will be Gunther who will drop by and be the one who recognizes the dog. We shall see.

Who else is humming “You Don’t Know What You’ve Got ‘Till It’s Gone?”

He seems to be adapting to his suffering, unlike poor Luann.

Poor Luann. Her precious little boy is far away and for all she knows, he could be seriously hurt.

I see Puddles is making the best of the present situation.

Luann already has a dog. Why should she get another dog just because a relative stranger has her dog for the moment? That would never happen with me. No one would take my dog away from me just because they liked her. I’d fight them tooth and nail.

It takes an animal to truly bring out humanity.

And so the circle is complete, amnesia is full affect, and it’s clear that Tiffany has completely forgotten that she’s met Puddles before.

And NO, I ain’t buying the notion that there are other dogs in the VAST Luanniverse that “look exactly like Pud.” There ARE none, and NEVER have been. PERIOD.

Also, I ain’t buying the theory that Tiffany “Knows that Pud is Lu’s dog but is keeping him to vex Luann.” BAH. The old Tiffany would have done that. But not the new Tiff.

Sooner or later someone will recognize Pud as Luann’s dog. Unfortunately, not before Tiffany and the rest of the gals in the quad have bonded with him. Maybe the entire Hall A Gang.

In an earlier post, IVLAX mentioned that “Gunther might be our last hope,” in getting Pud back to Luann. Will a wise old Gunther have play “King Solomon” and threaten to sword Pud into five pieces, only to have a tearful Lu declare she’d rather see Pud whole as she gives him up? Nah, A simple chip scan will suffice.

In the end, there are going to be four broken hearted gals in the quad. One in particular.

Perhaps later, Tiffany will go all “Jayne Mansfield” and get a (Gag) “pink” poodle, or something. ;-)

Doesn’t anyone on campus recognize puddles? I know Tiffany doesn’t because she’s never been to the house

It will be nice to have a break with the Sunday strip. One where Luann is not missing her dog.

Anyone here think Tiffany would make for a less human companion to Puddles than Luann? (Based on past posted comments for this strip, that would be a trick question.)

My prediction, Tiff once she knows, while disappointed, will willingly give Puddles back. Tiff has grown in ways, Bernice hasn’t. Luann, hasn’t per se, either, but these young ladies are all 19-20ish, and I know I was all over the place at that age. Luann has a generous heart and is of a kind nature. BUt, like many 20somethings has a selfish streak. Bernice is portrayed as ‘mature’ but in reality is simply a self-centered shrew, who thinks more about how she needs to be the smartest person in the room. No thanks.

Wonder if there’s another trip to the dog park by Tiffany and Puddles?

But the scars will remain.

How do Luann’s friends not know that Puddles is her dog? That makes no sense.

I suppose this whole arc is designed to get us all atwitter about possible future confrontations involving Puddles.

Someone’s going to get their feelings hurt. The way things go around here, it’s likely to be Tiffany.

Luann has shown herself to be an airhead and irresponsible at times. I wouldn’t say they define her, though. She’s the main character, so we’re supposed to relate to her through her flaws and learn along with her as she makes mistakes. I’m surprised that none of these characters has ever seen Puddles before.

O.K. this is a wild idea. After Puddles is found, Tiffany decides to move back to the mansion and asks Luann to move in with her. Jack comes by and brings Tiffany a dog for her own. Then Tiffany so moved by his kindness asks him to live there to at the mansion. Everybody can take it from there. Like I said this a wild idea.

How far from Luann’s house is MU and to the dog park? If it’s very far why would have Stef been driving near enough to find Puddles? Assuming he hadn’t walked very far from the park.

Bernice still goes to Moony U. This will soon be sorted out.

Is this story arc just an analogy? Tiff wanted Steph’s boyfriend, but he ends up in bed with Tiff. Steph finds Pud and says, “I want him!”. Pud ends up in bed with Tiff. How is Steph handling this? What will be the response of the two gals when someone says, “Let’s get him checked for a chip”? What will happen when Gunther shows up and says, “What is Luann’s dog doing here”? In my opinion this arc ended up being very interesting after a very slow start. This arc has a long way to go. I’m looking forward to how it all gets resolved.

How did Puddles get on Tiffanys upper bunk? What if he has to go potty?

I hope Tiffany doesn’t get in trouble because Stef brought a dog into the dorm.

So what happens next week? Will Tiff go to the dog park see Jack where Jack will say “Oh. You found Puddles”?

Another week of this arc! I can’t believe Tiffany knew Luann for 8 Luann years and never knew Puddles!

Having a dog in an apartment is a lot of work, it means several walks a day. This is the honeymoon period.

Tiffany is on the top bunk. What’s Puddles to do when he needs a bathroom break?

Wonder if Puds confuses Tiff w/ Luann? Of course the smell is not right or maybe he just likes blonds. Either way you could say Puds, like many dogs (or cats), is an opportunist.

Pretty obvious where this is going: Luann finds out (through Gunther or Bernice) that the dorm girls have Puddles. She goes to confront them and several strips-worth of arguments ensue. Finally the agree “Let’s let Puddles decide who he wants to be with.” Puddles looks to the dorm girls, then looks to Luann, then goes over and nuzzles against…..

Maybe Puddles recognizes Tiffany even if she doesn’t remember him. Is Puddles a Bassett Hound? Was his breed ever mentioned?

I don’t quite understand this story line, I thought all of Luann’s friends knew Puddles was hers?

I bet a lot of guys wish they could say that….

Final comment: 3rd. panel………..all it needs is sugarplums dancing in their heads, and we have a warm, happy Christmas card.

This might be a day late but I’m going to just say this…I don’t exactly hate how this might be a continuation. Most pet owners don’t find their missing pets in a day or two.

What I’m not going to be a fan of is if Luann doesn’t get Puddles back because at the end of the day, the end of the comic, Puddles does belong to Luann. If Puddles does stay with Tiffany (and the brats), it would have to be a great reason behind it.

Puddles seems way more content than LuAnn. This is interesting. My last pet had to stay with my parents when we left town. When we got back, she was so glad to see us after only a week. She never got that comfortable with my parents. Puddles seems like he forgot his family in hours. What is that saying?
