I'm a senior citizen living in the SF Bay Area for the last 60 years. I've been a comic book fan since I learned to read. I found the comic sections of the newspaper when I had my paper routes as a kid. I'm a premium member because it's something I can do to support the awesome writers. If I could only follow five strips they would be Luann, Calvin, Pearls Before Swine, Big Nate and Rose is Rose.

I can’t agree with you on this one. My local newspaper has 20 comics, only one by a dead guy, Charles Schulze. I would never ask my paper to drop Charles for some newbie. On the other hand, I only found one woman comic, Lynn Johnston. For Better or Worse is one of the least funny strips. The SF Chronicle carries only 18 comics, no women writers. Luann is now co-written by a father-daughter team which has improved the stories, in my opinion. I do my part by being a paid subscriber to GoComics.

    I enjoyed it. Very clever!

Daphne is the one positive in Nate’s life. I don’t think she will follow her friends’ advice. At least I and most everyone here hopes not.

is that supposed to refer to song: while my guitar gently weeps?

there are a lot of “fake” vegan meats, but not liver and onions, thankfully

That was 2013. People still deny the problem. 2023 was the hottest year in history. 2024 will be hotter still. But, so what, I have to jump in my car and go buy meat and dairy at the store.

I’ve read a lot of Heinlein but never saw that quote. A good one!

She’s smart AND pretty. She reminds me of some of my ex-girlfriends: complex, not easy to figure out, but warm and caring, always.
