The 2022&2024 are being stolen by the RW activist state lobbies right now. Vote in a Blue state and see a massive turn out. Vote in a Red state and they squeak by to steal the election in the Electoral College. Seems appropriate it would be called a college. It took a lot of education to make sure that Democracy would eventually fail.

I am pissed with my California Senators for not making a bigger push for our Constitution, I thought it matter more to them>

When all the facts are against you, try denial… There have been some who would admit the truth, but denial has always had its supporters. And with the advent of social media it has never been as big. Barnum would have loved it.

[insincere apologies for posting this once again, yet again]

Senator Josh Hawley (Fascist, Missouri) sings:

When I was a lad folk had no doubt

I’d commit treason with my trademark pout

I did my level best to prove them right

When I told a mob of traitors to go out and fight

(When he told a mob of traitors to go out and fight)

And, though the Biggest Lie was nothing but a ruse

They revolted just for me—also Trump and Cruz

(And, though the Biggest Lie was nothing but a ruse

They revolted just for him—also Trump and Cruz)

I’m never ever modest so my own horn I’ll toot

I gave that mob of traitors my own Fascist salute

And when the mob rampaged I quaked with fear

With a certain brownish discharge coming from my rear

(With a certain brownish discharge coming from his rear)

But in the aftermath I voted straight and true

To acquit my fellow traitor, Donald You Know Who

(But in the aftermath he voted straight and true

To acquit his fellow traitor, Donald You Know Who)

And now Manchin has announced he won’t support Biden’s For the People voting rights bill, which effectively kills it.

There will be nothing now stopping the GOP state legislatures from passing their voter suppression bills to make sure Democrats can’t win. And if they do, the bills will give judges and GOP state legislatures the power to overturn the wins.

@exitseven – I’m sure that, like you, Galileo, Newton, Einstein, and Hawking also relied on “knowing deep down” how the Universe works to come up with their ideas of truth. The primary difference is that what they came up with was not only testable, it was actually tested and discovered to match reality, whereas every test so far applied to your own gut instinct has failed to support it.

You have to remember that Trump’s handlers knew ahead of time that he would lose the election, because it would be in large part a referendum on Li’l Donnie’s legendary botch of the Covid pandemic. The legendary botch—which resulted in hundreds of thousands more deaths than would otherwise have been the case—was in part due to his sheer raw idiocy, partly due to his compulsive dishonesty, partly due to his delusions, but mostly because he simply did not give a damn. He wanted the economy kept open at full steam, and would not have cared if twenty million Americans had died as long as he was re-elected. His handlers started the Big Lie well ahead of the election because they knew he would lose it. And of course, without the Big Lie, no mob of traitors storming the Capitol.

Sad, but true. Too many hate groups find The Big Liar acceptable as their leader because he spews venom at so many different groups. The Press, Democrats, Blacks, Jews, Mexicans, intellectuals, progressives, indigenous people, welfare recipients, VFW survivors, sons & daughters of immigrants (the last group of which he is a member), as well as anyone who rejects his antagonistic and vapid philosophies borne of his psychopathic arrogance, provides a vast sampling of targets for multitudes of sycophants in need of an arrowhead upon which they can affix their poison.

The one thing all of his supporters have in common is hatred, and it is an embarrassment to this country to know that Congress, ( and especially the Senate), is still a swamp filled with unprincipled politicians who are eager to cherry-pick our Constitution to provide “support” for that anti-democratic demagogue who tried to stop the official count of Electoral College votes this past January 6th, 2021.

That day should live in infamy along with the attack on Pearl Harbor, nearly 80 years prior.

Suggested election reform: every candidate for any elected position at the federal level should be required to pass a civics exam to demonstrate that they have some sort of grasp of how democracy works and what the constitution means (perhaps with extra emphasis on the first amendment). You know, like immigrants are required to do for naturalization. You do want to know that your government leaders understand how governing is actually supposed to work, right?
