Baba sums it up and Elvis and Puck remembers baking and crying. They get it. Pucky’s sad face is so poignant.

If they find out that pets can get Covid, reassure them (especially Beatrix) that it’s rare and almost always very mild at worst:

Yeah. 2020 vision wasn’t great. When we look back, TV historians will have to explain why everyone in the shows are wearing masks.

Beatrix has the look on her face (and paws) of a child who’s been told to cover their ears but isn’t quite doing it.

A head butt, a purr, a cuddle all help sick and sad humans get well. Cheer up kitties. You have been helping humans to stay well.

Bon Jovi: Living on a Prayer

Once upon a time not so long ago

People used to go and have fun, now we need masks

The Woman bakes bread and cries,

We have to take each day as it comes, and stay distant

The cats do what they can for love, for love

    …….

Baba says we’ve got to hold on and do our best,

And somehow we will all get through this terrible mess

Our humans have us, and that’s a lot for love

And we’ll all do the rest!

    …….

    Meow, we’re half way there

    Meow, livin’ on a prayer

Take my paw, we’ll make it I swear

    Meow, livin’ on a prayer!

    …….

Sophie makes a picture of a germ, Bea holds it up not sure,

Elvis and Puck know what they mean,

Now the cats all understand, it’s a lot for a kitten to take in!

They are all there for here, for love!

I’m pretty introverted, and I haven’t minded the current situation very much. I work from home. But there are a lot of people suffering out there because they can’t do what they want to do, and the kitty cats here reminded me of that. Now I’m sad for the People out there that just want things to go back to normal. I hope they can get through this with a little help from our furry friends.

Cats are very intuitive to their human’s mood and needs. It is a misconception that all cats are aloof. On the contrary, cats sense you’re having a rough patch and will give you attention (purrs, pats, or lap-time) to reassure you.

A couple of our first cats (T-Tucker & Snicker Doodles) were very in tune with both Marie and I.

And I thoughts 2020 was the worst. Someone was right when they pointed out that this year meant 2020 won. I just hope next one won’t be 2020 too. Ohmygoodness. Woe is we.

Been a very long year in the grocery business. Getting a hernia and a forced two months off gave me a little taste of what people who have been home all year went through but it felt like a much deserved break for me. No mask for ten hours a day, no scared customers, no spotty supply chain. Getting a lot of writing done.Be well. Stay safe. Pet the kitty.

The mask covering my whiskers was a plus. The mode of the strip is pretty somber right now, but my guess is that we are going to see the light at the end of the tunnel by the end of the week. Either from Baba reporting on the hope the vaccine is bring or because the People will come home in a good mode because they have gotten their shot.

Shirley Serban has some wonderful songs about pets’ reaction to how Covid has changed their lives. The dogs are thrilled and don’t want their humans to ever leave, and the cats want us to go away and get out of their chair.

If there are any other fans of the Buckles (a dog) comic strip who were sad because it ended a few weeks ago, good news. Go Comics now owns the archive and has started it over from the beginning. I didn’t come into it until a few years ago, so I finally get to see those early strips and if I live long enough, the 79 dog haiku that I missed.

For those who are interested in researching the last 18 months of the “Pandemic” and how bad it really was, there is a book publisher who run a forum. It is made up of well over thirty separate chat rooms, many visited by the Authors they are named for. Fantasy Authors like Mercedes Lackey and Elizabeth Moon, Science fiction Authors like David Weber and John Ringo. They come from all over the political spectrum, are well-educated and many of us who visit are courteous and eager for new faces. The place is Baen’s Bar, and the ‘Table to visit is Politics. One of the regular Patrons, Wil North, posts regular updates on scores of news articles from all over the world(literally. He has posted stuff from India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South America just to name a few.), and has provided a tally count on sick and recovered. I will not say who has submitted Conspiracy Theories of this pandemic(besides me), but you will see a few posts for those. But for straight scoop, go check Wil North in the Bar. It’s worth making up a simple account to read just a tenth of what he’s posted. Because it’s true, and will have a calming influence.
