This was my kid’s favorite K-K joke when he first discovered “jokes”. That was forty or more years ago. And yeah, he did it that way ‘cause he couldn’t remember how it was supposed to work.
The response: “Here’s a knock-knock joke – you start it.” “Okay, knock knock.” “Who’s there? (smirk.)” “Orange.” “Orange who?” “Orange ya sorry I’ve heard that one already?”
If I were the character in the cartoon saying, “KNOCK KNOCK”, I would had said “WHO?” in response to being asked, “WHO’S THERE?” by its other characters.

They’re very similar. They both involve assumptions about things that you know you’re never going to understand the reason.

I first heard this joke on a radio program from the 1940s. An oldie but goodie!

In confessing I got caught like Ms. D, I was then thinking that Dad’s smile conveyed, “Nobody is here. I’m keeping my social distance from you.”

I had a family member who could never remember the punch line. Annoying, yet endearing.

Danae’s such a easy mark, it’s what makes her so special to me. That and her little skull that forms when she gets angry or frustrated.

Originally, this was the World War 3 knock knock. Works for covid 19 as well.

Danae’s forelock reminds me of the Mongol leaders, notably Genghis Khan. Google his images…
