Political debates were quite different back then. The one who looked the best without a shirt on won. The loser was taken out and shot.

Jimmy wasn’t sure why a strip search before all the other members assembled in the auditorium was required to join the NAMBLA choir, but the chief examiner seemed nice, if a little over-friendly with his hands, so he decided to go with it.

I know that it isn’t the norm/ to box in your dress uniform/ but it can’t be denied/ and it’s cruel to deride / a King, who is just keeping warm. (There’s something about a man in uniform..")

Young Mr. Wilde could never resist royalty – especially one in a uniform. It ran in the family.

This famous fight between Wilde and Lynch was officiated by uniformed Prince Charming according to the Marquess of Queensberry Rules.

The crowd went Wilde when the Lynch mob lost.

Mr. Melcher, I enjoy the funny captions you put on so many paintings. However, I particularly enjoy researching the backstories of the painting such as the Wilde and Lynch fight depicted. A few other folks have also done their research. You do a great service to jogging the brains!
