Mule singular is like Mo the Mule, the official mascot of University of Central Missouri.

Mulerider and Molly the Mule (plural) are the mascots of Southern Arkansas University and there are three mules that act as the mascots for the Army Black Knights of the United States Military Academy (West Point)

I’m always intrigued by the way Evans’s background (or in this case foreground) characters look so much more like men than the usual cartoon boys in the strip.

Oh look at that: Bernice sensed that people were having fun and has arrived to put a stop to it. Surprise surprise.

What would really be funny is if the dorm finally got sick of her and froze her out, like those city neighborhoods where police are so distrusted that no resident would ever talk to them for any reason whatsoever, not even to report a crime committed against them.

Bernice keep on moving.

Tiff might try saying to Bernice that this is just a one time fun thing for the game – and the people getting painted are just paying for her supplies. Tiff doesn’t have to show her books to Bernice.

Busted! Bernice goes in with a smug face and sings “Busted. I’m closing you down.” Tiff says, “You can’t! I am Tiff as Nails. There’s a game on Saturday and there’s money to be made!” " Bernice with a comeback, "Oh. I don’t think you know the dormitory rules OR licensure requirements to provide manicure/pedicure services. " Tiff gapes, “Licensure? WHAT licensure?” Fans: “Oh man. That dumb RA. Couldn’t you wait until I’ve had my nails done??”

Whatever Tiffany sets her mind to, she will succeed.

By the way, Tiffany, the guy second in line with the ball cap on is Greg in his earlier years. After all the misery Greg has dealt you, now’s a good time to even things up a bit. Once you get him strapped to the chair, give him a “bamboo shoot manicure”

Whoops, guess the fun’s over. Of course, it’s not like Tiffany was hiding anything, she has a sign on her door advertising and everything. If Bernice hadn’t seen it, certainly somebody from the University would have found out and shut her down.

It is good to see that Tiffany has figured out how to become independent. She found something she is good at to make money. She won’t need to use credit, cos she gets paid by the clients and that money she earned will be turned back into getting the supplies she will need. Building a business is not easy, but I think she will thrive. Good for her!

Gotta gear up for the end-of-season tilt against archrival Faber College!

I normally don’t comment, but I like this storyline.

I remember another time students lined up for Tiffany. It was in middle school. They were fund raising and Tiffany was in the dunk booth in a bikini. The line extended off the last panel. :o)

Some of my fellow students and I pooled our stereo equipment and provided music for school functions, dances, parties and such while in college. It helped us all work our way through school. No one ever objected to our running a business out of the dorm. Of course, I don’t think you had to have a liscense to disco, either.

Uh-oh here comes Bernice the Hall monitor to ruin everyone’s fun.

No worries. She’ll start working out of the ladies’ room at Kafe Kablooie.

Of course Bernice is going to become immersed in TIffany’s Nail Emporium on campus. Tiffany clearly has talent. So how is this going to accomplish her purpose of being free from the control of Ann Evil? Obviously doing it at the Fuse is one possibility, but odds are that, or any option, won’t be resolved in this arc.

Actually I think Bernice will be cool with it.

She’s not lisenced… How long until the health department shuts her down? And will Ann approve payment of all the fines?

It must take at least 30 minutes to do nails. It would be much more efficient for these students to make an appointment instead of waiting in line for 2 hours.

Annnd the college hall monitor shows up to shut Tiff down.

Not to mention the government’s cut … city business license, fictitious business statement, income tax, insurance … ad infinitum!!

I’m impressed with Greg being able to draw that little mule on Ox’s thumb. It’s actually legible. Well at least Berniece already knows Tiffany is just doing nails and nothing unseemly!!!! But what will her reaction be? Will this Uber R. A. Let it go or make a big fuss about it??

Possible scenario #1: Tiff bypasses Ann altogether and goes directly to Dad. Explains she wants to earn her own way by starting a business. Dad is impressed and gives her the dough. Ann has a royal S**tfit and goes ballistic. Dad sticks up for his kid and tells Ann to take a hike for good.

Tiff not to worry, you will probably lose your fat arse without you daddy’s money supporting your eating.

There is probably a rule against operating a business in a dorm.

I wonder I Bernice also tries to enforce no swearing or no offensive remarks in the dorm. That’s a full time job right there.

I just noticed. The “MU” logo on Greg ’s shirt (second in line) could, with little changes, become the Rolling Stones logo! (The gross out lips and tongue, that is)

When I was in college, there were a lot of “businesses” in the dorms. Even typing or writing papers for others for a fee. Amazing how many socialists on campus were undercover capitalists…

Yep, it’s happening.

And she will need help and a new location.

They’re lining up in droves! —Well, anyway, five (not counting Bernie). Business is really thriving as the Moony Mules’ fans get ready for the big Saturday (soccer?) game! —Until Officious Bernice goes all dorm-RA gestapo on Tiff and Oxford?…

Uh oh. Guess it’s ‘Nails’ for Tiff’s business venture.

I’m guessing Tiff will make friends and be more popular as a result of this venture; and all this will distract her from thinking about Ann and her dad. I still want to know what she will major in. Anyone who thought Tiff should drop out might bury that thought; it would not be a good move on her part, especially since students are her customers.
