Ol’ Luann would enjoy a romp in the swamp with Wednesday Adams.

You know Puddles is cute, but he is only a plot prop, this is about a budding romance between Luann and Jack, one that might actually cross that bridge between pre and post virginity. I mean that is the most flirtatious thing I have ever heard her say to a male, one of obvious attraction. Puddles is cute, but stop dodging what really is happening. Jack is okay, the anti-jock prejudice is silly. This is the next step in her growth. Jack is the anti-Quill in so many ways, and not at all like Aaron. This is a MALE people.

Actually, it looks like Luann’s tongue IS (mentally) flapping around. Yes, this strip has changed.

Luann is testing the testosterone. There is a strong scent of male and Luann is daring to tempt nature.

Re: Luann’s last comment. Geez if that isn’t a pitch near the outside corner! Jack has to decide whether to swing at it. Could be a homerun or a strikeout.

I wonder if the Evanses are attending ComicCon right now; if so, maybe this arc is just to keep everyone wondering while they sign books for readers…

Yeah, her tongue only flaps around when she’s hopping about the house (17 Sept 2016, for those who think I’m exaggerating).

They might be talking about Max and Puddles this just a side attraction to what this arc really about Jack & Luann getting together.

I like that in a woman. Leave the tongue flapping to the experts like Puddles.

I’m enjoying their relationship here. She’s comfortable with him. And I LIKE him.

Yeah, every time I read Jack’s speech, it’s always with a “Patrick Wharburton” voice…

Puddles is, IMO, the best-drawn dog in the comics today. Something about him….

I think Luann was only turning the mid-sentence interruption into a humorous moment, ‘playing off’ of the unintended insertion of mud into the subject of what Luann was actually going to say, about what she and Puddles both like.

Much like when my wife is relating things to me from her job, such as: “And then the next thing you know, he walks up to the smiling lady, politely smiles back and picks up the keys the lady dropped, and says…‘get away!’ (at that instant, my wife is swatting a mosquito)”. To which I reply, “I guess there won’t be a first date between them, after all, huh?”

I like how Max opens his eyes and watches as Puddles romps by.

Classic dog park conversation. I like it! Luann and Jake could become a great couple.

It’s good to see Lu answer Jack in a “flirtatious” way. Seems like she might be starting to relax with him. That’s a good thing. I just hope Puddles behaves and comes back to them when called and they don’t spend any time trying to get control of him (i.e. back on a leash).

Anyway, I look forward to the development of Lu & Jack. At least we see they have one thing in common… both dog lovers.

I believe I called the similarity between Puddles and Luann on Wednesday, “cute, friendly and prone to making or get into a mess.” I still say Max mirrors Jack – cute (in a way), lovable and (probably) cuddly.

And, like the two pups, probably will be just friends.

Well when you look at Luann she is physically developing into a beautiful woman. What man of her age would not want to date her. Along with all her pretty parts she is also developing well on the inside and showing she can be a caring person granted she is still growing on the inside and her personality is proving as of lately. I am interested in what come next.

I like the way this relationship has (supposedly) mellowed into a more relaxed one. He was mildly aggressive at first and Luann responded on a lark (with Bernice and Nil and bowling). Jack could represent a more long term slowly building relationship. With or without hormonal involvement. Either could be interesting arcs with Tara as the female best friend (lately).

Odd that in today’s ‘Luann Again’, she and Bernice are discussing on whether to kiss on the first date.

So many commenters expect the females in this strip to act like those in 9 Chickweed Lane. Luann, Tiffany, Bernice, and Pru… all have suffered some very crude remarks.I’m not a prude, but neither am I disrespectful.

Many Gentle Readers Here are “reading the tea leaves” today and hoping for a romance between Luann and Jack. Me too. I kinda like Jack, and I think something WILL happen between these two, and it’ll be fun. The question is, how serious will it be? Jack is a nice guy but I honestly don’t think he’s her soul mate.

There is one more thing I’d like to point out. I’m very GLAD that Puddles the wonder dog, is having Fun.

But it’s kinda SAD that the pouch has more fun, than MOST of the Young Adults in this Strip, lately.Particularly My Favorite Nerd………,

hey, in some areas of the country, OG IS the classiest restaurant around! I’ve been to such. Don’t knock them ..if managed properly, they do a good job.

I have been enjoying the arc thus far with Jack and Luann and Puddles. It has been light-hearted and I enjoy the interplay between Jack and Luann. Whether or not Jack does become a romantic interest for Luann is of course, yet to be seen. But, Jack (and Nil) have both, IMO, been exceptionally good character additions by Greg. Similarly I think Dez has been very successful.

Quill, (for me) was never a successful character because (to me) he seemed to basically be there only to be a reflection of Luann’s emotions and not much else. His minimalistic character development kept him being too bland character for my tastes. Pru….. I think as a character she started off quite strong, but I am getting the feeling that perhaps she was primarily added by Greg to help in the story line to transition Quill out of the comic. She has been very scant in terms of presence since then.

Mud wrestling, eh? Hm…..

a day without verbosity is like a day without sunshine…

it seems like Puddles does not get out enough; too much time spent at home eating and napping. He’s letting out all that pent up energy.

I like this arc. It’s nice to have these two just hanging out, being friends, without a lot of drama.

Oh, the innuendo! Will they or won’t they? (You all know what I mean.)

Does Luann finally have a new boyfriend?

I confess, I thought he was simply a jock, but now….

Jack has developed into a regular feature, brought together with Luann. There’s no REAL hints of romantic entanglements – yet. But he’s getting too much arc time with the eponymous character to be a flash in the pan.

I wonder where they G&K are leading them (and us)?
