Sigh….not the conclusion I was waiting for. Will there be a new arc on Monday which means we have to tread through bland strips for a couple weeks before this arc returns for its conclusion?
A big move on the part of Leslie to get points with Tiffany. Goodbye Gunther. You never stood a chance with her.
As for Ann, she has a point. This whole story started with Tiffany complaining about how her dad had stopped spending time with her in order to spend time with Ann.
So that’s the extent of Tiffany’s grand plan? Accuse Ann (with no witnesses) and hope she feels the need to confess and shut her scheme down, and then tell Daddy what a terrible person she is in the hopes that that’s enough to make him dump her?I really hope she has some ace up her sleeve, because otherwise it’s a pretty dumb plan. There’s literally nothing stopping Ann from picking this scheme right up where she left off.
What Greg doesn’t seem to be pursuing, is that Tiffany should call the cops. She has proof of major fraud, (the amount of money scammed goes well over the felony limit) and lots of witnesses, including now Les. Anne also said she has lots of other “projects”, bet the cops would love to investigate those.
I don’t know that Ann will be running to Tom Farrell. Maybe she is using this drama as a way to get out the door, away from Tiffany, and going on the run at this point. With Les on her side as a witness, Tiffany could go to her Dad or anyone else with her story, even if it’s not recorded, and have Ann investigated.
Well as I always say, GE always has a misdirection up his sleeve. Now that I look at it the thrust of this whole arc involved kids, Les and Tiffany, and their relationship with parents, Les with his mom, Tiffany with her dad. The lingerie show is just a huge set piece, although it has tentacles to the Fuse, Pru, Luann, Dez, and Tara (remember that sexy little wench—sorry feminist’s I could not resist that) to the parental issues. However this is no way this is the end of this arc. What happens with Ann and Mr. Farrell? Her parental issue is still out there. Perhaps Les is solved. And for those who think this is the start of a serious romance between Tiffany and Les, knocking Gunther out of the box (which I don’t think he ever was in anyway) I don’t think so; I think a real friendship is where this is for now. He chooses Tiffany, he choses the good people of Pittsville, he does what his wise old uncle wants him to do.
OK. This is a bit of a milestone, but certainly not the “end of the road” for this arc. First, I don’t think that Mr. Farrell choosing Ann over Tiff is such a sure thing. As stated above, Mr. Farrell may not be aware of Ann’s nefarious activities, and might dump her like a hot potato if he finds out about it. And with Tiff being the one exposing Ann, Mr. Farrell would be sure to reconcile with Tiff quickly.
As for Les, this could either be pure “revenge” against Ann for how she treated him or, simply, a “business decision” that he’s better off “without her” than “with her.” And, again, if he alerts Al Gray as to what Ann is doing, he might win favor with him… perhaps to the point of his covering Les’ restitution to his mom. We’ll see.
I say the arc will continue…. maybe not immediately, but it won’t be more than one week at most.
Nice job Leslie, but Tiff’s dad could go either way but we’ll just have to wait and see. Also I would like to point out that its nice to see Tiff dress up again. Sure she might be bigger but she still looks great. I guess what they say is true. Confidence truly is key and is the best accessory
Will Tiffany turn her back on the one person that stuck with her thru her trial at Mooney Uni? Will Les do his cherry stem trick again? Has team Greg gone on a looooong vacation?
Inquiring minds are beginning to wonder (wander?)!
Tiffany should’ve just alerted the FED’s. People who use counterfeit trademarks to sell fakes can be penalized in two ways. … Second, a seller can be prosecuted under the Trademark Counterfeiting Act of 1984. The Act makes it illegal for individuals to knowingly use a counterfeit trademark to sell goods or services. Individuals who are convicted under the Act can face up to a $2 million dollar fine and 10 years in prison. Individuals who are charged more than once for trademark infringement may be fined up to $5 million or imprisoned for up to 20 years.
Of course, like the Soap Operas doing the logical thing ruins a long drawn out story.
The Feds are too busy- sometimes they don’t even follow up on info re/ a possible school mass murderer much less this “nickels and dimes case” ( – to them ) – I would go to the locals first and see if they prosecute – for grand larceny.
Two things. It’s understandable that Les would reject this mother who has used him for, probably, a very long time, and is a grifter. Then, it’s time Tiffany had a heart-to-heart with her dad to show him how much she hasgrown up from that snotty little egocentric daughter to one who values both him and her friends. Life would then be better for both of them.
Panel #3: Ann has the dainty, little belt, Tiffany is wearing a weightlifter’s support belt. But, judging from the look on Tiff’s face, she’s going to slip into something more comfortable and Les is going to get lucky.
I don’t understand Ann’s comment about ‘going home’. Isn’t Les living with his Uncle Al? Isn’t that one of the reasons why Al is building a guest house for Gunther and Les, so he can have privacy with Irma? Is it possible that Ann has been living with Al and Les?
For those that still say “Turn it all over to the police”, don’t forget that Ann had just said “Oh, I didn’t know it was all fake! Oh, Poor me!”. No doubt premeditated. Cops could investigate, but how would you get a charge to stick? Remember, Ann “plays chess with money”, and thinks ahead in her dealings. Instead of this being “News Team @ 5 Uncovers A Scam”, It’s gotta be “The Equalizer Goes Shopping, guest starring Spencer (who happens to be for hire), And Jim Rockford (A good Filer)”.
Tiffany really botched this one by revealing her real self to Ann. It wasn’t necessary. Once she had the guest list she could have left. Now, not only could Ann convince Tom Farrell that she made an innocent mistake, she could get Tom to help compensate all the ladies. Ann is both nasty AND clever; she will find other business prospects. And if she still has Tiffany’s smartphone, she prevents Tiffany from acting immediately while moving ahead with her own act.
The simple answer as to why Tiffany is wearing gloves is because that makes Ann’s fingerprints the only ones on the phone.
Tiffany baited Ann to take the phone.
We have to wait for the payoff.
When Tiffany said copyright infringement, the phone screen was facing Ann, with the inventory table behind.
The phone should have had a listener as soon as the last guest left.
With the Windows not covered this time, and everybody knows it’s a lingerie party, would it be normal for Ann to come back the next morning to pick up her stock?
What if Ann forgets to give Tiffany back her phone. Les is not going to remind his mom.
Maybe Tiffany planned for the big showdown next morning when Pru, Mr. Gray, and Nancy are normally at the Fuse.
Les’ last quote today reminds me of the Star Trek TOS episode, Requiem for Methuselah. Rayna Kapek, the android, finally says, “I … choose!! … What I want to do!! … Where I want to be!! … I … choose!!”
