I used to go into prisons to host church services. One time, I kind of complained to an inmate about having to cut my lawn when I got home. His response: “Be thankful you have a lawn to mow.”

Isn’t that the same as “suck it up” or “rub some dirt on it and keep going?”

I would go to Pig for warmth and positivity 7 days of the week. He’s such a sweet soul.

Sounds like my wife when things happen to me. The comments are not as positive when things happen to her.

Shouldn’t that be “moping?”

I’m so sorry to hear of this. I want you to know that I am thinking of you and are in my prayers. Know that everything is going to be alright. If you need help, reach out to family, friends and the community. You’ll be quite surprised who can be of great help getting you back on your feet.

The important thing to know is you are alive. Personal property is not as important as your health and survival. A house can be rebuilt; belongings can be replaced with new ones. I know that’s hard to come to terms with, but you are not alone.

People and organizations can hold your hand as long as you need them. You’ll get through this. Look to your local Red Cross, Salvation Army, food pantries, homeless shelters, churches and community action agency (if there is one near you).

I was going to put my own plight on here, but I got too depressed about it. I’m just glad I can read Pearls to help me with things. Thank You.
