Gonna have to violate that book of fairie tales today. Having a cheeseburger for lunch in my cotton-wool shirt with a milkshake to wash it down. And cioppino for dinner tonight.
I feel sorry for those of you who have had a bad experience with religion, religious zealots, etc.. All I can say is that churches and religions are made up of imperfect people, which we ALL are. If you’re seeking God, pray to him and be honest with him about your thoughts and feelings. He’ll answer you in some way. As far as churches go, try to find one that preaches what the Bible says, not what some person says.
I am more or less a secular, left Democrat, pro-universal health care, anti-US militarism Jew extremely critical of Israel who has felt concern many times over the views expressed by Christians and their leaders and is a bit horrified by evangelical support for the Occupation. But I feel that many remarks here are kind of unkind toward Christians. We’re all human, all flawed, and each group has its, umm.. this and that ;)

That’s what Jefferson did. He took out all the miracles of Jesus and anything that pointed directly that Jesus was divine.
