I’ve heard that in Canada, political ads are restricted by law to the 4 months running up to an election. We need that law in the US!

Wishful thinking on it being 24 hour terms for presidents who are suffering from dementia and weren’t running a good campaign to begin with.

Campaigns should be limited to 2 months and a spending limit of say $5 mil. If you can’t connive your voters to vote for you in that time, you lose. Best conniver wins

US elections are ridiculous. They are just never freaking ending and where the politicians judge success by the number of election victories not by the policies they put in place. What would make this constant electioneering fun would be to force political ads to be 100% honest and be subject to civil trial if they are not. You’ll start seeing a big shift in what is said. It may actually make elections better.Thankfully, where I live, election campaigning starts about 4 months before the election, so I am pretty much mostly spared the standard lies most of the time.

The best part about being Russian, is getting to vote in American elections.

Which is nice, because we never get to vote in our own.

It’s important to lose closely at lawn signs during election campaigns….

Last time I cast my vote for a real estate agent.

That seems to be a very general time allotment for the break. Seems to me a couple of minutes after, the build up begins again.

Some of them seem to begin campaigning for the next election a month before the present election had been held.

24 hours? I don’t think they wait that long.

It’s amazing how many e-mails I have to delete from political campaigns trying to separate me from my money…

Campaign season begins the minute the polls close along with denying that you’ve lost.

It’d be funny if it weren’t true

To all Politicians we are tired of all the contentious and continues campaigning. Stop this money grubbing Stupidity and let the people have a rest between elections. Or lose everything!

Certainly seems that way, doesn’t it?

Yeah, sadly every election night is just the run up to the next one. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to pretend to have a voice, but I know what the “Electoral College” is. My vote is just a suggestion

We need to stop special interest groups and pacs!

Nothing will change in Americas elections because the politicians are too greedy and they’ll win any way they can, including cheating, lying, and deceiving!

That WAS true way back when elections in the USA were settled by a day after the election. Before 2000? [Yes, I know about Hayes.]

That’s why I hardly ever watch TV and I hate it when those ads appear on my favorite programs! The TV station would hate a law restricting air time too because it’s like Christmas time for their revenues!

Naw, the campaigning doesn’t start for months. The fund-raising, however, starts immediately.

News organization’s last threads of survival are the campaign ads. They will never campaign against political ad reforms, even malicious lies and slanders.

Is when I pay ahead to eliminate ads on TV YouTube channels.

With any 4 year term, there is only one year where he/she is doing actual work. They learn the job in the first year, and run for re-election during the last 2

And that, my friends is exactly why nothing ever gets done in government.

Given modern communication, the parties could organize and complete an election campaign in about a week. Make it so.
