Most tycoons are tyrants. They didn’t get rich by being nice to their employee or paying them a fair share for their labor. Most tycoons deserve to be hung from a lamppost for the entertainment of the masses and the edification of the children.

UGH! Tiff is getting things off on the wrong foot with Dez… What is wrong with her?

You’d think Tiff would just be thrilled she didn’t have to room with Stef. She knew about Dez and her naked yoga and incense. They are minor issues.

    .

So will they make it that she ends up hating living with Dez… and wants to go back with Stef??

So many unanswered questions left scattered on the floor of the Gulag! Was the Gun-Bets night of passion a one off? Where do Tiff and Bets stand with the Gray’s, and why? Has the trauma at the McManse caused Tycoon Tiff to turn into Timid Tiff? (love the alliteration)

Dez will be the next to move out. Tiff being such an ingrate that Dez will choose to go on a year abroad so that when next semester arrives Tiff will get a new roomie. The new roomie will be a former RA for Hall A who is brought back to additional funds, enter Bernice. It would serve Tiff right. What a selfish and ungrateful person she is and now she is as bad as Stef.

And the plane skids off the runway before rotation*/takeoff.

*Rotation: In aviation, rotation refers to the action of applying back pressure to a control device, such as a yoke, side-stick or center stick, to lift the nose wheel and subsequent climbing. Basically, Tiff is crashing the plane before it even takes off the ground.

Continuation from earlier in the week:

Irma and Al have a problem with Bets. What Gunther needs to do is take a copy of the Luann strip from January 17 of 2020 where Irma says Bets is a very nice girl and she really likes her, and show it to Irma.

Let’s see how living together with Dez will affect Tiffany. In my opinion, time two days and they will do Yoga together. Then, after a little more, she will try naked yoga and love it. We finally know what Stef studies! As far as we know, she may be the top student in her major. But I kinda doubt that.

Stef has FINALLY shedded her obnoxious and silly cheerleader garbs. She looks much better. And ugh, Tiff. Save the Tycoon Tiff for after college. Dez is a sweet friend, and you don’t want to push her away. You should have done THAT with Stef. Wrong girl. Had you done with Stef, you probably wouldn’t have gone back home and fell down the stairs then ended up bunking up with Gunther and Les. Stef would have seen that you meant business and stayed in Kip’s room. Boys tend not to mind too much sex around in their college rooms while girls tend to be much more private and not too keen about seeing others doing it. I speak from experience – boys are definitely open minded about blatant sex acts in front of others. I could never, and never will, understand that kind of mentality and attitude, but it is the truth so if Stef is ok with it, she could have moved in with Kip and you would have had the room all to yourself! And I concur – no naked yoga. That’s as bad as blatant sex acts in front of you, however, you two need to reach a compromise such as having Dez do her naked yoga while you are in classes rather than saying a flat NO.

I’m waiting now for Tiff to remember why she left the dorm to return home to the family mansion. She hasn’t yet put together the lessons of her recent months’ experiences in order to rearrange her life as desired, particularly any ventures into entrepreneurial activities and the college classwork that might facilitate them. she will need to become much more pro-active and plan-oriented if she is to transition to “tycoon Tiffany”. Part of her problem with the “WareManse” idea was that it arose spontaneously and she didn’t think about liability or security issues — not to neglect her failure to seek her father’s permission to use the family home in such a manner. But she should have learned several lessons, to wit: 1. She doesn’t like dorm living because of its inconveniences and impositions on her. 2. She fears living alone in her large family home — so much so that she panicked at the first sign of a security breach. 3. She should invest in good security systems and use them diligently. This need was illustrated by the window break, and by her father’s reaction when he learned via the internet of the WareManse experiment. 4. She needs to be careful about imposing upon even the most well-meaning friends for too long, lest she harm their friendship and cause them to wish her to leave.

Today’s strip suggests that she is about to be re-learning lessons 1 and 4 above. If Bets is a real friend and continues to be capable of confronting Tiff with maturity issues, then maybe she could review these experiences and lessons with Tiff. But she has not necessarily shown herself to be sufficiently analytical to put it all together by herself, either. She might, however, gain some help from Gunther as an analytical engineering thinker, if she would talk it through with him as part of their own processing of recent events that include Tiff’s eviction and Bets’ defiance of Al & Irma’s “sleepover” constraints.

The difference between a tycoon and a tyrant is a tycoon can afford a lawyer to do what Tiff is doing, setting boundaries and expectations. If it is a shared room, Dez can accommodate some boundaries. Good for Tiff for getting her ambition and self respect back.

What a way to tie up this week’s roller coaster ride with a final twist and turn in the end. Bets miraculously escaped unscathed from the guy’s place in her overnight stay with Gun. And now we lived happily ever after. Ok, I’m getting back in line to ride this coaster again. Some rides no matter how long they’ve been at a park, you just gotta ride again and again. Reminds me of my old favorite coaster called the Whizzer at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee,IL. That’s one ride they’ll never get rid of w/o a huge public outcry of injustice. :)

There’s a lot going on today. Tiff is back and giving orders to Dez in a way she should have given to Steff. I don’t know why Bets is telling Steff to explain the difference between a tycoon and a tyrant to Tiff, as I don’t think she knows what either is. She doesn’t seem to want to get involved, maybe thinking she has the room to herself. Now she’s a dance major? ? Dez will be fine. Have a cuppa! ;-D

I confess I got played by my own misdirection play. Looking at how Bets was drawn yesterday, how completely she dominated the situation and handled, adroitly, the Tiffany situation, and her plain defiant but diplomatic staying the night with Gunther (I’m no longer calling him Gun(ther), and by the way paying back Les with getting Tiffany to get over her tantrum and move back to the dorm, where she desperately needs to be, I fell victim to the interpretation of her motives that I so often decry; but I was totally played! She is staying at the dorm, per the end (?) of this arc, already ordering Stef around. By the way I’m as sure as I can be with this strip, Tiffany will be balancing her charkas, drinking mushroom tea in no time. A TOUR DE FORCE!" Showdown with Wiseguy Al, and Ginger-Head Irma is still to come, but my money is on Bets with that one. Talk about tough, tycoon type.

It seems Bets has been talking about Dez’s less popular habits.

Naked yoga should happen when no one else is around who could be offended. Maybe they can work out a schedule for Dez. Incense is an acquired taste and can actually cause allergies for some people. I don’t see any problem with her requests. At least she’s being up front about it.

My personal opinion is that Tiffany prefers, and is more comfortable, living with men as opposed to women. Maybe she just needs servants, I don’t know. I do know four women in one small place will never work, ever

There has been an ongoing debate on whether Bets is good for Gunther – as she sometimes looks like a control freak. Bets has gained points in this transaction handling Tiffany. Also it’s now fairly clear that intimacy between Gunther and Bets has evolved. Irma and Al now seem like the control freaks – as they are trying to discourage Bets – whom they perceive as a real threat to the family status quo. But geez – Gun is pushing 20 and not a kid anymore. G & K have done a good job keeping Bets interesting – which requires issues.

Tiffany does have a right to some say in the environment. But being a bossy witch is totally uncalled for. She could ask politely that Dez not burn incense when Tiff is in the room, not do naked yoga in their common space, etc. Assuming that Dez won’t keep “her stuff” on her own side is ridiculous. I was fortunate to have roommates who actually suggested solutions to matters where we differed, such as incense use (I have asthma), when boyfriends would be visiting, and such. But then, I didn’t ever room with a “Tiffany” type!
