Back in the early 60s, everyone at St. John’s School had a mandatory army-green, oilcloth bookbag that closed with a drawstring-strap. It was butt-ugly, but waterproof and all but indestructible, and you could sit on it while waiting for the bus.
One of my favorite math classes in high school was the week our math teacher taught us about angles by showing us how to do origami. She also taught us that math is EVERYWHERE, and boy, was she right!
