Hell, I had to look him up myself to see if he was a real person and not just someone Bill made up.

How can Calvin even begin to pronounce Paul’s last name? I’ve been reading it off and on for decades and I can’t reliably pronounce it!

Gaugin was a painter. I bet he was too busy frolicking with his Tahitian models to philosophise.

Paul Gaugin was brilliantly played by Anthony Quinn (who won the Oscar as Best Supporting Actor) in the film LUST FOR LIFE, starring Kirk Douglas as Van Gogh—his best performance< IMO!!

So he can quote Gaugin, but can’t do his regular school work?

I knew who Paul Gaugin was before I read this but I sure never knew he said anything like that.

I wonder how Calvin pronounced “Gaugin”.

I have the impression that impressionist don’t really do impressions!

In someways Paul Gaugin lived the life that Calvin might aspire to….run away from a middle class life, job & family. Move to Tahiti, sleep with girls way too young & paint as you like..

Mom should be more concerned about what the “big plans” are than with teaching Calvin about Gauguin.

So – science couldn’t fill the void inside of Mr. Gauguin?

The only thing I know about Paul Gauguin is that he spent the last years of his life kicked back on some south seas Island.

More things Calvin’s parents need to teach him about.

Gauguin did what a lot of us wished we could have done! But as Calvin demonstrates, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing—Mr. Trump!

French, artist, Tahiti. this is what I know about him. Don’t need to know much more for the crossword puzzles.
