Pucky, the Best Climber!

Oh, Lupin…at least those smaller trees have more structural integrity and are easier to pick up.

Lupin! Don’t . . . Never mind. Lupin’s gonna Lupin and the eternally optimistic Woman should know better than to put those toothbrushes . . . I mean, little Christmas trees up on the mantle. Now if one of those lands on, and thereby wakes up, Elvis, or worse yet, the Girl . . . then Elvis and Lupin will have a discussion.

What a sweet, cozy scene if you totally overlook that they not only leave the tree lit all night, they leave a fire in the fireplace with no fire screen. Here’s hoping it’s a glass screen and that the grown ups are just in the other room assembling bicycles and doll houses since Santa has had a hard time hiring workers this season.

O.T. Calendars. Got mine yesterday and think there’s a glitch with Elvis’ gotcha day listed on Dec 20th. But we celebrated his 13th on the 13th of Oct. I messaged Georgia on IG. Hopefully I’ve not gone completely bonkers, …yet. ;)

All the cats have stockings hanging on the fireplace. I hope Santa brings them all kinds of goodies!

The robber mice are being good this year. Or, at least, quiet.

Awesome scene in panel 2. I wonder if the woman is playing some Nat King Cole form Nana Dee Dee’s cassette in the background? Any Christmas song from that wonderful crooner would really set the mood for a night with Christmas quickly approaching. I can also think of The Who " I can see for miles and miles" from Puck’s point of view and perspective. I guess everyone has a favorite XMas tune. For myself it is a simple tune of “Silent Night” played on an old wind-up organ played by an angel which stands all of 6 inches tall at the most. My parents always had that little organ out with the Christmas tree and it had to played a zillion times. One of my older sisters has it now and it still works even though it has to be from the ’50s or early ’60s. She will play it and send the song to us other kids on a voice mail /WhatsApp /wav file (depending on which year) every Christmas Eve, kind of a strange tradition but it is one we have had for almost 20 years.

I think I’ve mentioned how much fun my Niece has with that usually horrible Elf on the Shelf thing … for Christmas, I’m featuring one of his worst pranks as my avatar.

With him around, the kids have nothing to fear … but he better hope he doesn’t get sent back to the North Pole any time soon!

Lupin the tree faller (aka logger). Put your hard hat back on, add your chaps and eye protection, call out “TIMBERRRR” (although in my experience they don’t call Timber anymore. Often they call “FALLING” before the final cut.
