Happy Parent’s Day!

so much for really appreciating their parents

Today’s strip is more like the classic/original Luann strips, and I really appreciate it.

Have you ever noticed that every month has at least one major US holiday, except for August?

What’s crazy is… Tara is still on the other end of that sofa… taking a nap. lol

My brother always claimed he was adopted. This created some confusion because I was the one with the redder hair.

Mother’s Day. Father’s Day. Parents’ Day. What’s next, Frank’s and Nancy’s birthdays? They’ve been cashing in for months.

This cartoon is so old that even the Salvation Army wouldn’t take iit.

Looking at the first panel, it appears that Luann and Brad may have interrupted something…

Frank & Nancy are like my parents. I would catch them cuddled up on the couch just like this, even up into their ’90’s.

Twerps.

Well, my wife and I parented a wonderful daughter, who got a degree in physics and a minor in astronomy and is married to a absolutely great chap who has a degree in mathematics, as do I, we even had the same math professor in college though many years apart!

We consider ourselves very lucky!

Happy parents day! Must be nice to have parents still so in love with each other after decades of life together ♡. Luann and Brad are hilarious and sweet. It’s really a great family. Now, just let them alone. They have very important things to do.

Generational hilarity ensues, for a good reason. Frank and Nancy are the heart of Luannverse, excellent parents. No one gets a book of directions but somehow parents raise generally normal adults; for those who aren’t well we strive for perfection.

Me: “Parents’ Day is just a product of the SYSTEM! You see, the corporations, right? They want you to consume! All the sheeple think they have to buy-buy-buy, like good little cogs in the machine, man! And then—”

Parents: “Son, get out of our house.”

In keeping with the theme, it’s “greeting card humor.” You know, the kind that makes you groan and put the card back on the rack.

Compliments aren’t a good gift. They’re just a way of showing that don’t wanna give them anything.

There’s already a Mother’s Day and a Father’s Day. Why do they need a Parent’s Day?

Seriously? Never heard of it … aren’t mother’s day and father’s day enough?

“Special day” proliferation is out of control.

I know I got my looks from my father. Still trying to figure out why my mother ever found him appealing…No woman in my generation would have based on my experiences.

Where is Toni? She’s not part of the family too?

Parent’s Day? I think this whole “day” and “month” designation for different things is out of hand and really stupid. There’s probably a jelly bean day. Or a pot belly pig day. Or a feral cat day. And then setting aside a whole month to be designated toward this or that cause is just plain overkill. Where’s the white working people’s month for my dad? How about an elderly caretaker month for my mom? It’s gotten to the point where these so-called “holidays” don’t even mean anything because there’s so many of them. I don’t even pay attention to them anymore and I certainly don’t show them any kind of acknowledgement.

“Wonder who they were?” Could these “amazing people” be, just maybe, Greg and Karen Evans? A little meta for the Sunday panel?

I always enjoy it when we get to see Frank and Nancy doing something romantic together, like today. Even if Brad and Luann decide to butt in.

What energy and ambition? All Luann is good for is sitting in her war zone of a bedroom and halfassing her way through life and when did she or Brad do anything smart?

I wanna know why Luan didn’t get her mom’s lips. Talk about getting the short end of the DNA strand…

Lammas on August 1 used to be celebrated in the United States before any of us who are living today were born.

Is it really parents day? We were too busy celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday to notice…
