Kadaver should have bought less shiny darts! Well, Tracy is quick, but not quite quick enough, but I’m thinking that the fact that he wasn’t hit in the temple is probably a very good thing. I love that last frame, especially!

Will Mr. 10 of Spades now do a number on Abner. Because he failed?

That arrow barely poked Tracy’s arm! That’s what you get for using toys instead of a .50 caliber Barrett!

Uh-oh. Tracy’s going down! Arm pierced with a poison dart with no antidote.

Sorry…..but you have a key witness with a huge contract on him that already just missed getting killed once by luck…..you DON’T bring him out in public, duhhhh….

He can survive and arm shot unless that thing has a poison overlay. Sam looks a bit rattled, and so does Charlie, for the first time.

Now Abner messed up the new hit man PLUS hit Tracy so they’ll probably put a contract on him….wouldn’t it be cool if Rikki took it, lol?

This story is going to have a bizarre ending, I can feel it….

Very impressed by the artwork today in panels 1 and 2. Feels more like it is out of a comic book and not a newspaper funnies section.

Dick Tracy took the arrow meant for Charlie 21. I wonder if that arrow had a special coat of something applied before it was fired.

And that’s twice Abner missed. The Apparatus wants their money back.

Should have used the poison-tipped ones. Or, brought more than one arrow. If he wasn’t so adamant about “silent,” he could have used the explody tips.

I thought it was supposed to be an arrow to the knee. ;D

Oh, well – Abner should be partly happy…

Let’s hope that’s not a poisonous dart.

Tracy will survive. The comic strip is named after him.

Looks like the “21” in Charlies name refers to his weight.

If his aim was that off, it really should have been a performance of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Then Abner cold have walked on stage as Erik and simply been MUCH closer…

Since Abner was aiming for a head shot, we can probably assume that this particular dart has no poison on it. Still, that’s Tracy’s right arm, at or near the elbow. It didn’t do his arm any good.

Wonder if the curtain came down on account of commotion in the seats.

Well…at least Abner didn’t shake this time

I can imagine Vitamin saying what is all that ruckus in the middle of my scene?

Alright Abner, how are you and Rikki going to escape? Oh yeah, confusion now among the actors and the technicians….better take advantage of it.

Apparatus member…..darn….Abner couldn’t hit the side of a barn….why on earth did we hire him? Supposedly, his reputation carried weight. Going forward, we better have applicants submit a resume.

While others have noted, the artwork is great, and great action scenes, am I alone in thinking this is probably the lamest Dick Tracy story – let alone Abner Kadaver story?

I LOVE this artwork today! Joe and Shelley know how to draw action scenes with the best of them. Will Tracy survive? Will Sam lose another hat to the mad killer? Will Charlie ever buy a toup?!! So many questions! Be here tomorrow! Same Tracy time, same Tracy channel! OH! :D

1-A.B.: Hold breath, mentally sing Elvis Costello’s My Aim Is True and RELEA… HEY! DAMIT RIKKI! PUT THAT LASER POINTER AWAY! SPROING! Uh oh.

2-DT: WHOA. CHARLIE DOSED ME! I knew he looked like that Owsley guy who made acid for the Grateful Dead when I was their tour bus driver!

3-…CHARLIE! YOU BAS…OWWWWW! What bit me?

SAM: HOLY SMOKES! First in was The Tempest, then it was The Hunchback of Notre Dame NOW IT’S WILLIAM TELL THIS PLAY HAS EVERYTHING! Except maybe a plausible plot…

He who will not be named made another astute observation that it was a good thing the dart didn’t hit him in the temple. Actually Doctor W. it’s a good thing when NOTHING hits you in the temple, even a marble….Great art, and wanna bet Dick will be okay. He’s got to make that 100th anniversary.

Tracy’s sharp eye catches the glint of the hunting arrow, and he takes it in his right arm while saving Charlie and startling Sam, who was apparently watching the play too intently. Tracy will not be able to draw his piece from his shoulder-holster nor to shoot too easily if he has to use his left hand. It’s up to you, Sam! Focus!
