Just remember, you’re one day closer to Saturday than you were yesterday.

This is the reason I hate happy dreams so much.

With nightmares, at least when you wake up, you feel relief that it isn’t real. But when waking up from a happy dream, you feel crushed that it was all fake and you’re back to your normal mundane unhappy life.

Aren’t most “Little Nemo in Slumberland” strips like that?

I have so many wonderful dreams. Certainly my flying dreams similar to Calvin’s are some of my favorite.

How sweet that Hobbes is holding the umbrella.

I had a wonderful dream, too! I saw my greatest love and I was so happy, that I didn’t want, the dream would end! And Iwas very disappointed, when I awoke!

Not to worry Calvin, Susie Derkins will share hers with you, Of course it’ll be peanut butter and not like your favorite mouse loaf.

Calvin essentially dreams all the time.

My flying dreams began when I was 13 and stopped quite some time ago. In the early ones I kind of stretched up and back until I lifted off, then I leaned forward to fly. Sometime as an adult the takeoff changed to running, taking longer strides until I realized I didn’t have to put my foot down. Once I was clear of the ground I leaned forward and flew like Superman. Once I was flying and decided it was a dream, so I scrunched up. I immediately tumbled and fell like a rock, the wind roaring past me until I stabilized again. I don’t think any of my flying dreams included landing.

Well it certainly was a good one while it lasted!

I thought is was only Monday that is bad.

I also had flying dreams as a young-un. It is actually very common for kids to have those dreams.

Rainy days and Tuesdays always get me down.

Alas, my flying dreams were usually falling dreams and I didn’t like them.

Feel ya big guy…

Hmmm…What would Freud say?

I guess Calvin just likes to ‘accentuate the negative’.

Where I live; rain is seldom a reason to be down. I’ve seen people so glad to have rain that they just stood out in it and soaked it up.

The only way it could be worse is if it were Monday.

I like to call days like this Monday 2.0

At least Hobbes is holding the umbrella for Calvin.

I tried it, and pushing down and flapping harder is not effortless! I barely got ten feet off the ground!

They change in ways you’d never expect, Calvin.

Cheer up Calvin, according to the Moody Blues, Tuesday Afternoon gets better.

At least he gets to ride the bus. I had to slosh all the way to school on days like that.

Calvin, just wait till you make it into corporate America, and then you’ll see what a bad Tuesday can look like.

I remember having a flying dream like that when I was 15, and it was fun, until I ended up crashing into some power lines, to which I woke up. Maybe if Calvin’s dream ended like that, it would’ve softened the blow a bit…

Ah! Flying dreams are wonderful. I still get one once in a while.

Was always able to teleport or fly in my dreams.

at least you have your best friend waiting with you. you just need to show him how to hold the umbrella to keep you both dry! p.s. maybe your mom will notice you forgot your lunch and bring it to school for you.

Well, I could tell you about the weak, watered down coffee I just had…

Too bad all that rain wasn’t snow. Calvin could’ve gotten a day off and slept in. Imagine having a few more hours of a wonderful dream like that!

At least he didn’t lose his lunch while flying. Oh, he forgot his lunch.

Last time Tuesday started worse than this, it was Monday…

I’ve found that something simple like wearing a different pair of shoes with soles an inch thicker can lead to flying dreams that night. I think it is because my brain has been doing perspective shifts all day.

Wait until you’re in the work force, Calvin.

Calvin grew up to be a fantasy and science fiction writer.

Maybe one day you can fly without flapping your arms and in real life!!
