Obviously he’s never seen “The Philadelphia Story,” “When Harry Met Sally,” “My Man Godfrey,” “Holiday,” “Annie Hall,” “Love Actually,” or one of the very many smart rom coms out there.

Santa might just be in the dumps because of all the soppy, made in a weekend, holiday schmaltz running across the tv guide. Gets worse every year.

I’m probably missing the obvious, but what do rom-coms have to do with Santa?

Some of these were actually called “screwball comedies”

WILEY: could have just left the cloud blank -you’d get some real great comments.

A rom-com is just a longer s(h)it-com. Attraction by one or both partners, inexplicable events drive them apart, problem resolved, confusion removed, happily ever after. Shakespeare’s comedies all worked the same. The tragedies did as well, except at the end the confusion remained and people died.

I wish my life has some Romance or some Comedy in it. It has very little of either.
