The Imperial Hall grew quiet, and tension filled the air as The Tsar stared at his niece’s left forearm, which bore an ugly contusion. Unable to give voice to “the unspeakable act”, she deftly reach towards her uncle. With this small gesture she not only avoided grasping the “matrimonial symbol” of the candle, she confirmed the suspicion of The Tsar’s second guess.
