Just a note of clarification – the original drawing accompanying the patent application for the original toilet paper dispenser shows the paper feeding from over the top

I work at a food pantry staffed with mostly female volunteers yet most don’t know how to load a paper towel dispenser or (more importantly) open and reload the “bathroom tissue” roll holder.

Women should be trained to leave the toilet seat up! (In reality, you should always close the lid before flushing — it’s cleaner, and it stops cats and dogs from getting in.) These stereotypes are silly, anyway — here, my son and I, not the women, are the ones who change the toilet rolls.

Regardless of original intentions of said invention, one must go according to his/her desire in the way they utilize the invention….rules were made to be bent, twisted and manipulated….I prefer bottom…..others prefer top….it’s like tomato/ tomato, potato/potato…..to each his own!

I went to an all-boy grade school (7th grade on – same school as the girls, but separated by gender). An all-boy high school (since gone coed) and an all-boy college (since gone coed).

To tell you the truth, it probably was a good thing. I think having girls in the class at that stage of my life would have been a distraction.

When does toothpaste tube squeezing start? Picking up their clothes? Separating the white clothes from the colored clothes? Making their beds? Rinsing their dishes and putting them in the dishwasher? Throwing out their beer cans?

It is not that we don’t know how to do all that. We just don’t because it annoys women. The more they dodge work during ‘that time of month’ the more ‘simple’ things we forget to do.

I’m a guy, but on airplanes they should post a sign “everyone- sit down”. Entering the uni-loo after a young boy has used it usually looks like the effects of splashdown.

Just remember this guys, just because you can relieve yourself standing up, doesn’t mean you have to. I never had any problems with making sure the seat was down, because the female/male ratio in the house was 4 to 2.

It is an amazing bit of psychological study that (in general) men prefer toilet feeding over the top, women prefer it feeding from behind. Being male, it makes sense to me that feeding behind makes it more difficult to access. Obviously without conducting a survey, I can’t get the viewpoint of women in general.

But what’s even more amazing is that someone actually conducted a psychological study of this issue— one that will surely affect the safety and welfare of our planet for generations to come.

I have many friends from Latin America and some things I find very interesting about their culture is that the women are trained to put the seat up for the men, and nobody uses the toilet paper dispensers. Women belch as much as men.

My wife NEVER replaces the TP roll. It doesn’t help that the dispenser spring is 60 years old and rusty, so if you don’t get it on just right it springs like a trap and shoots the metal top across the bathroom.
