I’ve never liked that euphemism, “It’s not personal.” Of course it’s personal! The person being affected is personally affected. It really means, “Yes, I’m guilty of hurting you, but I’ll pretend that I’m not.”
Rerun has a far better memory that I have! Without referencing my diary, I’d struggle to remember the first two items on the list :)
At least this settles the question of whether it’s pronounced ’g’if or ’j’if :)
Steve, today’s strip is funny. You’re missing out.
I learned a new word today: quadpolar
No, come on, not all placebos are homeopathy. And placebos work well in some (not all) people. So, for those people, as long as the placebos are fairly priced (unlike homeopathic treatments), they are worth having — no side effects!
You want to be a baby for eternity? :D
The government doesn’t represent the populace, no matter which country you live in. That’s a lie that the politicians tell us. The government represents the venal bosses, who treat it as their own fiefdom. Trump’s comment the other day was telling: “Don’t speak to your president like that.” Why not? The president is the lowest position in the entire country, being in service (in theory) to every resident and tourist within the country, and every citizen no matter where they live. Even the homeless are masters (in theory) of the president.
I’ve obviously missed something. Does he visit two different companies?
