This is a new storyline, isn’t it? It’s been a while since I’ve read the original strips!

Well, have a SPOILER ZONE regardless. :D

All you can eat leprechauns? I feel like there may be ethical implications to this.

OMC, I’ve been talking about the North American St. Patrick’s Day rituals of drinking too much green-tinted beer and eating too many deep-fried leprechaun wings for weeks now! (Of course, leprechaun wings are delicious, and superior to chicken wings as they can be enjoyed by everyone — even vegans! — owing to the fact that leprechauns are imaginary, and thus contain zero allergens and no meat.)

I’ve always wondered how the legend of leprechauns became associated with St. Patrick’s Day! In any case, I am definitely ready to celebrate St. Catty’s Day!

Elvis’s leprechaun bib is too adorable, but I fear the poor lad might be disappointed in the St. Paddy’s day menu. Hopefully, the St. Catty’s Day menu is more tasty than yucky, stinky corned beef and cabbage!

St Patrick’s day day 2019 is the 20th anniversary of our move into our own big pink 1892 house. Twenty years of hard work and putting every nickel we could find into this place! We will celebrate as a family on the date, and have neighbors over the following week. Corned beef and cabbage, yes. Nana’s Irish bread, yes. Leprechaun wings, no. I owe too much to leprechauns. We are so lucky!

I went out to purchase a copy of Lupin Leaps In at a large chain bookstore- the same one where I found my copy of the first book. I scoured the Humor section where all the other comic anthologies are (where the first one was)… and found nothing! No BCN at all! I couldn’t believe they wouldn’t have any. When I asked, the employee looked it up in the computer and took me to the Children’s Graphic Novel section and there was Lupin. I was happy to find it, but…. Children’s Graphic Novel section? Why for Cat’s sake was it there and not with the other comic collections?

Moral of the story- if you can’t find it, they might be hiding Lupin in a strange place in the store, so make sure to ask…

I like the Irish saints, tbh. Like St. Brigid, who turned used bathwater into Beer for the thirsty when there was nothing else available.

For those who are interested, my ribs are (almost) completely healed. Found myself sleeping on them when I awoke without pain. Not exactly Wolverine-like healing powers, but for something that’s supposed to take 6 to nine weeks, you won’t hear me complain.

In other news – today is (unofficially) National Napping Day in the US. I’m sure the Boys will be doing in depth investigation and report back to us tomorrow. Or maybe Wednesday if they need more time to research this story.

“‘Oh, $#@*!’ = every dwarf, on realizing it is St. Patrick’s Day.” – Brad Williams

It’s true, too. I refuse to go anywhere near a bar on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s the one day a year people feel justified in being bold about making size jokes, with “where is your pot of gold” being the mildest of them.

I have a suggestion—and it’s only that—about “Spoiler Zone” posts. Specifically, that we don’t combine them with comments/questions about new material. Today’s an example—this arc, which actually began Sunday, is new. So we can’t really spoiler it.

    Just a thought.

I leave offerings to St.Gertrude, three times a day. Her helpers are mostly appeased by my simple offering of kibble and canned meat, sacrifices!

Thank you so much everyone, for all of your paw power, healing vibes, hugs, purrs, and advice on finding someone else to do the housework! I am a bit better today. I can at least walk across a room without jarring pain with every step. I spent yesterday on the recliner with a lumbar pillow and a heating pad (with cats to make sure it was all done properly, of course!) I got out the book I purchased for my husband on back, shoulder, and neck pain, by Robin McKenzie (sp?) and I cannot believe the difference one simple stretch every 2 hours has made- along with all of you keeping me in your thoughts!

There seems to be some doubt about this “patron saint of cats” business. (Who gets to decide these things, anyway? And what use is a “patron saint of Lost Causes”?

Two panels yesterday and one today have me thinking I should print them on cardstock and add to my collection of holy cards. Yes, I really do have such. These would fit right in.

I mentioned once before, I’m not Catholic and barely even conventionally religious… but I do love me some saints. I’ve even got some “secular holy cards” like Einstein, Cesar Chavez. Some radical ones like Dorothy Day. Some from other faiths such as Gandhi and the Buddha.

Ooh, a black “LIVE” card. We don’t see those very often… Cool! I say we start a petition to have St Catty’s day officially recognized. And of course to have the BCN crew be the official St Catty’s Day ambassadors.

A community near me celebrates “St. Urho’s Day” – the imaginary patron saint of Finland – on March 16th. The completely fictional legend is he chased the grasshoppers out of Finland to save the wine grape crops. It provides a head start for St. Patrick Day celebrations the next day, as an individual of Finnish descent is honorarily crowned “St. Urho”, with their own float to ride in the St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Leprechauns taste exactly like the red dot, only the expectation is mint, not cherry. Same nutritional content; negative, as much energy is expended in the chase.

I sit with Opsie (one of the cats at the colony) in the hopes that one day he’ll retire from being a colony and come home with me. I know it’s a long shot, but in the meantime he gets lots of love from me and sits on my lap. The area that we sit and have the “together time” at has lot of leaves. Some of the leave have decayed to where only the structure is left and looks like tiny fairy wings. I wonder if that’s why people believe in fairies, all because the didn’t understand how nature worked?
