The Toddler must be watching some rival newscast to come up with this inaccurate information.

I wonder if Lupin took the back position to avoid getting marked up. It’s no fun if someone else does it to you. Love the annoyed loaf positon.

I would give anything to be Puck for a day.

Mystery solved! Next up on “Can You Think Like a Toddler?”, episode 2: “What does he call his little sister?”

“Snowguy” seems fine to me, but I gather that, these days, we are supposed to call them “Snowpersons”. Not all birds are owls, but they probably should be.

This was laugh-out-loud hilarious. I’ve gotten more guffaws from BCN that any other comic strip I’ve ever read, except maybe Pogo (RIP Walt Kelly).

This is another of my all time favorites. When Elvis is the only one happy, you know their world has been turned upside down. I can understand Puck’s disappointment at once again having his boyhood questioned, especially since he’s been told he’s a good boy. Once he realizes he is being compared to the woman he will see it’s not an insult but a compliment. Perhaps if Lupin ever reads or sees a production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” he’ll understand that Puck would probably have been a more appropriate name for him than Lupin.

Ohhhhh! I love that flashback of Pucky as a ladybird for Halloween! Poor sweetie, he’s always having to defend his manliness. Awww! “Don’t they know I’m a boy?” It’s because he’s so sweet, sensitive and in tune with the feelings of others just a touch more than most males, in my humble opinion. ;-)

For historical context, this was the first strip back after the real life family made their cross country move to California.

Though the line “Wants to hug the moon” appears to be referring to Lupin here, in the original it was all part of one banner referring to The Toddler.

Lupin’s got a real catitude lately

Elvis got that pair of Toddler socks matched. Whew!

I thought Lupin liked to be picked up. Is his stiff-legged stance in panel 10 just because of the whole “Puck” thing?

I love the Lupin face-brace in panel 10. We get this from Salem, too, when he doesn’t want our faces so close to his face. “Talk to the paw.”

Happy Bunday, orbsters and orbabies! I love Lupin’s aggravated ears in the second frame. It’s odd to see Elvis grinning and smirking, when he usually so dour. And poor Puck, his masculinity called into question again.

It’s going to be a nice mild Super Bowl Sunday here in Barrie, with temperatures above freezing. On the down side, we are expecting rain and freezing rain this evening.

Elvis is not withholding his glee very well. Pucky and Lupin realize that Elvis will be rather insufferable for at least a week.

OMC, I love this strip so much! By that I mean everything… all the earlier ones, the repeats, and this one in particular. I just LOL’d and BWAHAHA’d at every panel.

I have a question – not related to this strip. On this month’s page of the BCN calendar there is something sticking out from under the back of the woman’s dress. It’s white with some pink stripes and a pink pattern of some sort that I can’t make out. Does anybody have a guess as to what it is? Also have to say that I love how the woman is all dressed up for their romantic dinner but the man appears to be in jeans and his sock feet. And of course I love Elvis eating the flowers with a knife and fork!

Ever since my avatar kitty, Max, unexpectedly crossed the Rainbow Bridge last September, I have been without a cat for probably the first time in my adult life. BCN helps fill my need for a kitty fix. Thanks, Georgia for your great work.

When our daughter was that age there were two species of animals, bears and dogs. Bears could stand on their hind legs. Dogs were always on all fours.

Elvis is gloating big time.

Equipment Update:

As previously mentioned we feed BARF. Some kibble in the AM, but the evening meal is healthy, hearty, scrumdilicious ground up bits of formerly living things. And lots of it.

Until recently 4 chickens would last 14-16 days. With the mix powder and water that comes to almost 30 pounds of food. Your gallant giant human would cut them up, feed the grinder then hand mix a giant roasting pan full of this thick stew. A bit of a chore.

With the advent of Trixie and the 3 kittens the 4 chicken batch only lasts 10-11 days, getting shorter each week as the kittens grow. This old man is getting tired. So I’ve gone industrial.

This baby will handle 12-16 ground chickens at a time. That means once the kittens are grown I’ll only have to make BARF mix every….hmmm….naught naught….carry the naught….oh bugger. I need a bigger battlest…errr…mixer.

Wow Lupin got up on the wrong side of the cat bed today. Poor Puck his same old problem nobody understands that he is a true male. Elvis well he is dad cat after all. Nothing wrong with that. Gloat, gloat…

First of all, this is one of my favorites. Second, the mouse on my computer has cat hair in it! I guess the cat shed on the desk, and then the mouse rolled over it…?It was such a hassle to remove.

This was always one of my favorite strips. I love (actual) Puck’s little paw on his hip, annoyed with Lupin.

And with as overly-cautious and detailed-oriented my own dad is, “Dad Cat” is a very apt name for Elvis.

A friend of mine, when much younger, referred to kitties as ‘Keeeeeyyys!!’, as she couldn’t, at the time, pronounce the whole word properly. Admittedly, it was really cute!! :)

The toddler has misgendered Mom Cat

I learned long ago from my female friends that they call each other guys, as in “C’mon, guys.” I’ve never heard a woman say “C’mon, persons.”
