Lately, they’ve started calling it just Pride which bothers me, because now a mother can’t be proud of little Timmy unless little Timmy is gay.

This comic is not funny. Its actually actively harmful. Stephen is essentially saying he can’t be bothered to pay attention to the terms of a marginalized community. If Stephen can’t be bothered to learn why should I continue to read him? And plz spare me the “one queer/black/brown friend bit”.

After the gigantic mess organizers of the WorldCon 2018 science fiction convention made in the past few days relative to said-community, you better hope their critics don’t see this. comic strip.

The best one I’ve run across so far, and it’s actually pronounceable, is QUILTBAG.

    Q – Queer and Questioning

    U – Unidentified

    I – Intersex

    L – Lesbian

    T – Transgender, Transexual

    B – Bisexual

    A – Asexual

    G – Gay

I’m part of an endangered community: the HWOM. Heterosexual white older male. Feel free to make fun of me, belittle me, and make snide comments without fear of any retribution.

I have a form of dwarfism and once had a conversation with a guy in a hotel lobby during a Little People of America conference that went something like this:

Guy: I’ve heard you guys called little people, midgets, dwarfs, short … what do you prefer to be called?

Me: “John” works pretty well for me.

I’ve always felt they should just go with ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ. That way, they get all the current orientations, as well as the ones that they haven’t thought of yet.

When I was a kid, “Queer” covered them all. So, it was “you leave me alone and I’ll pretend you don’t exist”. And all were happy……..well, all of us straight people. As for the queers, who cares?
