I think I remember how the arc ends (no, I ain’t a-tellin’!) and I remember how the strip ends – but I’m just twisted enough to think that, great as the last strip was, this would have been a great – and more memorable – one.
Is Steve Canyon the only daily comic to end with the title character’s death?
This reminds me of my favorite moment from the movie, “The Right Stuff,” when Yeager pilots the NF-104 into the upper stratosphere and gets a peek at outer space.

This is why a million balloons would be a better choice instead of just one.
Also, instead of lifting just yourself, you can lift your house, that way you can go to Paradise Falls.

You and your big mouth, Calvin! As usual of course.

The Enterprise at the top right of cloud? Don’t be silly. It’s the cigar being smoked by Jabba the Hut.

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand last panel?

Calvin, at the very least and last, has a good grip on physics.

The actual last strip of the series. Well, it was a good run.

Oh je, the end of Calvin, when not a big bird or a plane will rescue him!!

Now that his balloon has popped, I can picture Calvin running into the house shouting, “Mom! Dad! Hobbes! Guess what, I’m dead!!!”
BiggerNate91 almost 6 years ago
Calvin actually finds an interesting way out of this one.

OK, so I don’t understand the the last panel. It just looks like a night sky and clouds. What does that have to do with Calvin’s balloon popping?

I read somewhere that falling doesn’t kill. It’s the sudden stop at the end that does you in. Lol

On two occasions, I was flying a small airplane and had a balloon suddenly pop up in my windshield and scared the **** out of me.

Given Calvin’s tenuous grip on reality, we’ll see him standing on a park bench holding a burst balloon
