It looks as if the man finally got the mug off his hand but perhaps lost a little skin in the process!

Meanwhile, all her boys are missing their mommy!

Hahaha! Even the baby is in on it. This reminds me of something my mother used to say when we were little “if I was hanging on a doornail you all would find a way to get next to me.”

Oh my, how dare she shut the door on enquiring boys. However will they report the news if they can’t conduct an interview?

I know this feeling well, I am not allowed to be unattended in the bathroom either. Like how the Toddler is adding his two cents in too :)

Of course the boys are upset. Elvis desperately needs to inspect the room for any possible danger. Puck desperately needs to know that she really is comfy and relaxed and does she need anything. Lupin desperately hopes a wild adventure for him is lurking behind the door. The Toddler simply wants his mommy.

The Toddler certainly has the right idea. I’m sure that’s what kitties are actually saying when trying to get into closed-off rooms!

…Or maybe Blossom’s just trying to get an interview from me. :O

Ya’ll think only cats don’t give you privacy? HA! Try having a German Shepherd (a slightly larger animal in the bathroom with you!) when trying to take a shower or other things. I swear I would trip over him all the time – and he would look at me like he was just doing his job (with love, of course.)

There are other Velcro dogs, as well. Since my German Shepherd is gone now, my Labrador mix (a nice tall 100 pounder) has decided I need guarding. I am never alone…

Aww!! I love the heart Georgia drew on the Baby’s rump! Cats can’t stand for their people to be in the bathroom with the door closed. I’m sure many a paw is scratching through beneath the door! Even the Baby wants to know when Momma will be coming out.

Lupin is reaching under the door in the approved manner. Cats seem to believe that there is some sort of latch at the bottom of a door.

@Cat19632001; Seriously, please check your firewalls. Is your router compromised? Overloaded with cookies? Social accounts infiltrated? I’d be taking it to a certified geek pronto! Best wishes for an inexpensive fix!

    But!

Kim Komando has lots of options for checking these before calling a geek. Might check her site! (HOPE!)

@cat19632001 You don’t say what Browser you’re using but you might need to check your Privacy Settings (should be set to ‘Medium High’ in Internet Explorer). You might want to try accessing the site using a different Browser and see if that makes a difference.

Good morning and happy Thursday/Purrsday, orbsters and orbabies. We will be incommunicado for several days as we will be heading up to the cabin for the long weekend. Depending on how Paul’s radiation therapy is scheduled and how he feels, this may be the only weekend we get up there this year.

Ye-es, one or the other of my cats tends to supervise when I’m in the ‘reading room’. I glare at them and enquire whether I watch THEM using the litterbox. This fazes them not in the least… :D

I have the upper floor to myself, in terms of human inhabitants. So I can leave the door open during baths so my Sheltie can assure herself that all her humans are accounted for.

As almost all of us know, cats are always offended by a locked door. Even more so when one of their staff is on the other side of it.

All the kids were next door playing. Middle of the day so I thought I would sneak off for a bath. Just slid under the bubbles and the door slammed open. My 6 year old and 3 of his friends came in demanding snacks. When I told them to leave so I could get out, one friend said, “that’s ok, my mom cooks in her b’day suit.” When I relayed that to his mom, she said she got a new outfit on her b’day and he refers to it as her b’day suit. Kids are too funny!!

. . . when I was pregnant, I use to enjoy soaking in the bathtub and watch the water ripple as my future child was active. Couldn’t do that very well with bubbles. Though, there was always an intruder, who had to come in and sit on the “island” . . . demanding attention. :)

I remember when my kids were young, they, the dog and the cat would pile in the bathroom with me. Their father came home and yelled " where is everybody?" and I told him the party was in the bathroom. There was room for one more. LOL. Privacy, no such thing with family, human or furry around.

Kind of a gross story, but it’s hilarious: When my brother and I were little, my brother was out playing in the backyard and I guess had a potty emergency and had to answer nature’s call in a hurry because it was number two and he couldn’t hold it in long enough to get to a toilet indoor: he resorted to using our cat’s litter box (it was our black and white short hair Tux at the time) and it rather unsettled Tux quite a bit to have to share his precious litter box! lol I still get the giggles of the incident to this day!

My master bathroom door doesn’t latch, so usually as soon as she hears me get into the shower (and therefore unable to close the door behind her) my cat pushes the door open and sits on the toilet to watch me shower. When I get out she’s mostly interested in the water gurgling down the drain.

I had to keep a towel specifically to put in my lap so Gerri could get comfy while I used the facilities.

In my current home the bathroom counter is right by the door. Artemus loves to stand on his hind legs to push open doors. One day the door opened a crack (the latch often doesn’t catch) and a paw came through to sit on the counter while he used the other to push the door wide open.

Living in a house alone with all the fuzzy butts means the bathroom door stays open for this reason. My shower partner Tiger died last year but Ichy has decided to take up his mantle. As soon as she hears the shower turn on the fuzzy basketball materializes in the bathroom waiting atop the toilet for me to get in the shower so she can join me. First a sip from the kitty fountain on the vanity then she sits on the edge of the tub while I shower getting scratches from me. She doesn’t actually get into the shower like Tiger did but she doesn’t want me to feel lonely either. Good kitty.

Then there was Odysseus, who liked to sit on the edge of the tub and let his very fluffy tail soak up about half my bath. Then he’d get down, spin and slap his siblings with it.

Sometimes I think my 4 think the bathroom door is like the Wardrobe and I will enter Narnia and leave them behind. And , of course, if I leave it open in they come altho no one wants to join me in the shower.

I used to close the bathroom door, but it wasn’t latched and Trouble could open it. She rarely came in, but when she did, it was usually while I’d be brushing my teeth. She’d make a circuit of the room, looking in the trash can, under the closet shelves and double check the corners and go back out. I used to look down at her and inquire “did you lose something?”

100% accurate! I just got out of the shower and found my cat Oliver curled up napping on a pile of towels awaiting my return from whatever lapse of sanity led me to willingly spray myself with water. Guess he got tired of waiting outside and snuck in! Not the first time he’s done this either. He is usually banned from the bathroom due to his love of “expensive cat toys” -aka toilet paper rolls with the paper still attached- but he knows I won’t kick him out while I’m showering. Such a sweet kitty!

Mine always take shifts. My female cat will meow at the door then leave, then my son will “mom, are you in there?” then leave, then my male cat will come to the door and scratch it a bit, then leave. By the time I get out (sometimes after they do 2-3 shifts each) there’s no one at the door. Drives me crazy.
