I have NO problem with a cyclist pedaling along, I consider them the same as pedestrians however the worst are these E-bikes that are also delivery ubers that race through stop signs and red lights everywhere and the motorcyclist that feel that the dotted lines are for them. These are the ones that should have their tires blown out. There should be a law that if you are caught doing these things, your “vehicle” will be confiscated on the spot with NO change of regaining and you will be hit with the same infractions as a driver under the influence.

I don’t know what year this was originally published, but for reference to everybody saying that gas is now $8US wherever they live, $8 in 1993 = $16.82 today, and $8 in 1983 = $24.66 today.

California defeated a law which would have allowed bicyclists to run stop signs legally. A stop sign still means stop, whether you are on a bicycle or in a motor vehicle.

While you may not see the point of stopping at every sign, it is important to have the habit of stopping . We are not perfect creatures with constant awareness. Most of what we do is habit. Stop signs are not placed by rolling dice, they are sited based on traffic studies, visibility and accident data.

You live by habits; make them good habits.

I love how annoyed the dad is! At least I also give cyclists the right to the road. Also, that last part of the slogan sadly became true in some parts of the country, no thanks to supply/demand from the pandemic and then the Russia-Ukraine war jacking up the gas prices.

In physics, a jerk is the rate at which an object’s acceleration changes with respect to time. Most accidents are a result of big jerks.

One of the cases that we studied in the one and only law course I took, involved a bicycle manufacturer.

The plaintiffs were suing the manufacturer or the product and the driver of a car for killing their son as he was cycling. They claimed that the manufacturer did not put adequate warning on their product that it should not be operated at night since it did not have any lighting.

The accident occurred on an unlit, public street at 10:30 PM.

The vehicle involved was a tricycle and the operator was alone, unsupervised and 3 years old.

The parents assumed no responsibility for the accident.

    Only in America.

HEY CYCLISTS!! Stop riding the wrong way on sidewalks and then running red lights or stop signs. Because when I’m turning right on red at 4 am, on my way to work, I’m not looking for some idiot on a bike running with no lights barrelling down the sidewalk heading towards my passenger side. And if I do see them I would be expecting them to stop at the stop sign or red light. And yes I know I know you don’t do that it’s the other cyclist.
