Oh dear.

Elvis: “Cute? Cute? We are professional news reporters! We are serious! We are dedicated! And above all, we are dignified! (Elvis, anyway) We are not cute!”

Puck: “Well . . .”

How is that not news. You’re cats, everything is news.

Goldie doesn’t seem to mind too much. =D;

Goldie looks so resigned. But then, this time last year, things were much worse for her, so she’s come out ahead!

Only Puck looks really cute because he’s actually happy! The others look aggravated, resigned, and disgusted!

If you sprinkle pumpkin spice on the card it would be “Seasonings Greetings”.

Rub it in, Tommy. You seem to be having a blast.

Who knew fangs could mean so many different things?!?

Goldie and Puck seem to be okay with the costumes while Lupin looks a bit conflicted and Elvis looks like he is ready to explode! Tommy is savoring the moment and in panel 2 it looks like Puck is anticipating the news!

Oh, Georgia, if I gave you my mailing address, would you send me a card? They are so precious!

Lupin is sitting on a chair, at what is probably the news desk. Have we ever seen any of them sitting on a chair like that before? I know if we have someone here will remember.

The card is cute but some of the expressions are very dire! The woman had better watch out for retribution!

Well at least one of the kitties seemed to enjoy holiday photo. Meanwhile Elvis is doing his best grouch impression.

Goldie and Puck seem to be in the spirit. However, Lupin and Elvis are ready to kill.

The look on Elvis’s face is the same look my cat Gracie has whenever I take pictures of her wearing her Christmas sweater she can barely move in: “Get your kicks now, you’ll have to sleep eventually.”

That photo perfectly captures all their personalities.

Even though Lupin and Elvis are less than pleased being in costume, they’re cute even when they’re being disgruntled and grumpy.

YAY! She managed to get Elvis upright for the photo, though he still seems to be wobbling a bit to the side. I’d love to see what Halloween costumes Sophie might fashion for her and Tommy. Tabitha meanwhile is probably laughing her tail off while Sir Fig is looking confused and thinking ¿Que?

National Metric Day —Which seems odd, as the US still hasn’t adopted the metric system. Here, we still believe that a scruple of prevention is better than a poundal of cure.

Powers of Ten Day —10/10/2020—Powers of Ten Thinking is “a form of rich, cross-disciplinary thought that approaches ideas from multiple interrelated perspectives, ranging from infinitesimal to the cosmic—and the orders of magnitude in between.” In geology, everything is inter-related. Scientists should be trained this way. Unfortunately most are not.

National Chess Day— Chess can become an obsession more dangerous than toebeans. Two of the best chess players I’ve ever known had their lives changed by it. One dropped out of college and joined the Army. The other took seven years to graduate, and instead of going to veterinary school, became a linguist … Knight to Bishop Three …

National Tuxedo Day —Which celebrates men looking like penguins, which is better than coat-and-tails, which makes them look insectile. Instead, let’s celebrate tuxedo cats: much better looking, dignified, and perfect gentlecats. Here’s to Sir Figaro Newton, who always wore it well!

Hug a Drummer Day —I knew a fellow in college who was a math genius. He also salvaged Volkswagon Beetles to make one operational car, which he then sold. He could play the drum solo from “Inna Gada da Vida” on a Beetle’s body that sounded like a metallic version of the original.

World Porridge Day —Just don’t make it Whirled Porridge Day … My definition of a bad cook is someone who can ruin porridge. I’ve known a few. Their porridge was horkage—when it was served.

National Angel Food Cake Day —Something to get that horkage out of our minds. Angel food? Have you ever even heard of a fat angel?

Let’s see. Lupin looks like “GET ME OUT OF THIS ********** THING!” (the censored has a lot to do with kitty litter and the pan). Goldie looks like “Why are we all dressed like this?” Elvis looks like “I swear to Cat you are all doomed when I get out of this! I’m gonna hock up enough hairballs to drown you!” And Puck looks like “HAPPY ME DAY EARLY!!!!!”

The card is definitely a keeper.

Cats love costumes. Well, one out of four in this sample.

So cool of you all to raise money for pediatric cancer research. You have such a great heart : ) I went to https://nightmarathon.net and was able to watch you at work. It looks like great fun. I already donated – to such a great cause. You are the best!
