I have to respectfully disagree. The kids portrayed in this strip are in 3rd grade, about 8 years old. Kids of that age GENERALLY aren’t psychologically ready for some of the very distinctly adult themes found in The Eiger sanction, and many other books. Will there be exceptions? Sure, and Caulfield is probably one of them, but exceptions are just that, exceptions.
Not even close. I grew up in Chicago, I’ve visited New York. Mastroianni and Hart have obviously never visited Alaska in the summer. Entire lawns in Anchorage are nothing but yellow flowers and white puffs.
