Mr. Pembrook’s computer didn’t crash either.

Wow, this is a bad bad work situatioin. He could get law on their butts for this. Then again, he would likely bungle it.

I’m ashamed of Roger. I wouldn’t bow to the S O B. And I wouldn’t beg either. Find another job, Roger. Or go back to day trading. Starving is better than working for an A hole like that.

I agree. this comic was written in the early 90’s. No problem finding a job then.

I’m sorry, starving is better than working for a jerk? It’ll be uncomfortable but it’s better than starving. I know, been there!

I have to agree with twypsi. You tend to think starving is better than working for a bad boss, until you’re actually starving.
To use bigger words, basic needs naturally come before self-actualization.

Why is his tie always crooked?

Stave. Flip burgers, or beg. Your choice. Some lovely apartments here in the city cheap, some with running water. You have taught your kids to run home from school.
That middle class lifestyle wasn’t all it was cracked up to be

I remember those day’s back in the 90’s employers couldn’t find enough workers, the 10 years ago everything went down the tube, hiring freezes, layoffs, and now budget cuts.
I came close to be where Roger was a year ago, different situation, I had to have surgery on my neck and I’m pt, boss’s boss decided they couldn’t hold my position so terminated me day’s before surgery, I let them know a month early, well the jig was on them HR implemted a policy for disability so I got the job back after I filed a complaint against them and told HR if I where full time this would not happen. But for a couple of others it did happen work related to health limited their ability for what the job required and they where let go. When I got back wow I had one big mess to clean up on paper work.
Now I’m looking trying to see about college or Jr. college for a different type of position. And with so many out here in KS and employer’s are wanting younger workers I not sure. At least I still have pt position. And college’s are letting future student’s work on line. They privide software and textbooks.

Roger your not the only one who has a termpermental boss. I have to be carefull with mine and I know who this boss favorite is. and everyone else favorite is to.

I would look for a job while working for him. Once you find one, hand in your two weeks notice.

Starving yourself is one thing, but when you
have wife and kids, you endure many things
for them.
sandflea said, about 1 hour ago
davidf42, you must still must be single and living at home.
It’s easy to say you won’t bow or beg, but if you’ve got a family to feed you’ll put up with a lot.
And anyway, Roger has always been a boot licker.
This is the only thing he does well.
He needs the aggravation.
He deserves an a-hole boss.

OK, I overstated my case. I wouldn’t starve over kiss the guy’s you-know-what, but I would be out looking for a job. Been there done that too. And no, I’m not single. With 2 kids in the house I slammed the door behind me rather than sucking up to the S O B. Found another job within 2 months.
