It sure isn’t my fault! I recycle. I walk to get the mail. I eat local (sort of). Spouse drives a Prius. And one of these years, I’ll trade in my pickup on a smaller vehicle.

If we weren’t supposed to raise the temperature of Earth and use up all of the resources, it should’ve said that in the Bible! (/s)

In Genesis 3:12… And the man answered, “The woman whom You gave me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

So basically Adam was blaming not just Eve, but God himself.

I had a coworker see a news report about climate change. He got upset, kinda shouted “it’s not real” then stormed off. It’s almost like as if he was secretly behind the whole thing and tried to make us think it wasn’t real by yelling “it’s not real.”

    Well case closed.

The problem is made worse when people use mythology and magical thinking instead of facts and science to deal with it.

All of science is just a THEORY. To some people that means it’s all false.

Science is subject to refinement and sometimes wholesale changes as it takes steps towards reality (how things really work in the universe). To some people, that means it’s untrue. Science is unlike religion, which once it makes up its mind, never changes. People hate change.

Climate deniers point to disagreements among scientists on how BAD climate change is to say that it does not exist at all since the scientists can’t agree.

I am an old fossil who attended school in a blue state back in the 1950’s. We learned how to think critically. Since then, I have become a skeptic. I don’t believe something is true based solely on someone saying that it is. It has to at least make sense to me.

On the issue of climate change, I do not heed environmental groups or fossil fuel industry studies. It would be laughable to suggest that politicians would even know the truth, much less speak it. I get my information from Scientific American Magazine. If someone makes an assertion there, they have to back it up with data. Also, the magazine has taken to peer reviews – having other scientists comment on the article.

Well, the earth cycles through some pretty nasty climate changes. Ice ages are a b1tch. I wonder if we are lucky to be in the heat cycle or if we would do better in the ice cycle? I hear the whole planet was mostly a jungle for the dinosaurs.

There was no ‘Adam and Eve.’ If you actually read the Biblical story, it really is Adam and his transgendered CLONE, (Steve), Eve. Of course, the FACT that life existed for millions of year prior is another indication of the invalidity of the fairy-tale.

Anybody who hasn’t seen global warming happening should take a trip to Denali National Park in Alaska. You will see markers dated by year showing how the glaciers have receded, going back decades. It will convince even the most skeptical.

Somewhere in the dark recesses of my Brother’s basement/rec room, is a 45 rpm record I received at a live broadcast , by a local radio show. I can’t remember the artist’s name, or recall ever having heard the song played on the air. The lyrics, though ARE memorable :“The first teenager was a lad named Adam, those rockin’ rhythms, brother, Adam had ’em. A Chick named Eve, real gone steady, They met in the garden, it was love, already.” I hope you are as moved by this as I was.

so all those folks complaining how horrible the human race is, how many have garden? How many have lawns (poor use of land). How many have only enough house to meet their real needs, walk when they can, forgo air conditioning, etc etc.

We can’t even get people to stop simple littering. There must be something in the back of the human brain that says that if a soda can or beer bottle is empty, just toss it. The energy cost of carrying an empty container is too high. Otherwise how do we explain all the Bud Lite cans along the side of the road.

Use up all the resources. Pollute the planet till all human life is gone making room for the next species in a million years. All part of God’s plan, working perfectly.

Stop breeding like rabbits. Unfortunately, it’s probably already too late. The planet can not sustain the current population , certainly no more. Science is not going to come up with some magic cure all. We are simply going to drown in our own waste. You don’t have to like the answer, just accept it.

We have not evolved far enough as a species to be able to deal with the volume of population in a positive way that has been accrued.
