Had a 25 year old coworker, my mom went to school and was friends with her grandmother. Every so often her grandma would bake cookies and bring in for us. One day I said 2 things grandmas are good at, spoiling grandkids and their culinary skills.

It takes a village.

I often have the same (bad) thought. I’ve reproduced, therefore I should die. That said, I’m a grandma who is having all the fun now I missed while reproducing. LOL.

Writing is relatively recent in human history. Before then, all knowledge was memorized and transmitted orally. Older members of the group were especially valuable for their experience and vast accumulation of environmental facts. In a social group, oral history is just as important as reproductive health.

And if you know how to really use your grandchildren, you can live forever.

Earl, I’ll be 71 this year and I’m just hitting my stride. Pick something and do it with all your might. Find something to enjoy. I never imagined myself as a YouTuber, but there I am.

Grandchildren and pets are meant to be spoiled.

True.. if you were a West coast salmon. Your presence is needed to watch over Nelson so his mother can work. To pass on your experiences so Nelson can benefit from your mistakes and successes.

Grandparents are an integral part of a child’s life and, especially, growth. There’s a special bond between those two generations and, more importantly, a channel of communication. It’s natural for people to have some difficult with authority, and people in authority (parents, here) to have perspective, so that other familial outlet is vital. The American family has been ravaged over the past 60 years or so with the absence of grandparents from a child’s early life.

That’s a grandparent’s most important job – spoil the kids & give ’em back!
