No comments? It’s hard to believe that I am the first one here today. I love Bea’s expression in the last panel; however, I find it hard to believe that Baba Mouse left them alone in the barn with no supervision.
There must be a technical glitch on GoComics today. I got here in a round-about way, not the usual Today’s Comic. Someone needs to get Burt here to fix it! Oh, and the young ones have cute names.
Oddly, my email had all my comics. But when I first came here at abou 5:15 am PDT this comic (and many others) did not show up. So I went to yesterday’s comic and found a bunch of comments about the comic not dropping. Somebody said that the email had the comic, so I went to my email, and sure enought, there it was. (This is a premium member perk). By the time I was through reading all my comics (all my usuals were in the email, even though they all weren’t on the GoComics website) I came back to GoComics and the comics had all dropped.
Oh my Cat…five younger brothers. Princess Magazine is getting a taste of leadership and responsibility from an early age, I see. Lesson one is not smacking the lot of them with a spatula, even if you really, really want to.
Poor Spork. I know being the youngest means you get all the worn-out hand-me-downs and bargain-basement stuff, but they couldn’t even spare a second syllable for his name like all his brothers have!
There is some merit to my relatively late arrival—the only way I know of the delay is reading others’ comments about it. Especially Le’letha’s. I’m very pleased your brain is happy, dear!
Go Comics was updated on time but you had to click the forward button on the date to see it. I too find the raccoon kits to be adorable. Not surprised Baba Mouse has left them temporarily. Mom cats do this once the kittens don’t need milk. They all seem to do just fine when she takes a nap elsewhere for a while. My theory is she’s fostering independence and self reliance, and the process works (as any cat owned human knows) since cats absolutely personify both.
I am confused. On July 17th it appeared that the kits were dropped off at the chicken coop (brown with red door). Now they are in barn (red)? And where is Baba?
It’s the ladies who keep getting things done. They’re chasing a story, aiding a conspiracy of light, and it was the ladies who figured out how to keep the BPH. It’s interesting that very recently I saw Hidden Figures.
Generally I don’t comment on these,, but……I am shocked that I am the first to mention the rare rear toebeans of Teapot in the last panel. Have all the towbean addicts been distracted by the lateness of the strip??
I loved all the names, but “Takeout” and “Spork” made me laugh out loud.
I love how in the second panel Teapot looks like he’s holding the teacup on his tunic.
I think that’s a diaper Spork’s wearing. When I was a teen, my mother wanted me to babysit to “prepare me” for having kids. I told her no thanks, you could carve “never changed a diaper” on my tombstone. I meant it, too.
over a dozen years ago I asked a little girl whose family was visiting the soup kitchen where I volunteered what her and her sister’s names were. She replied, “My name is Napkin and she’s Apple” I couldn’t tell if she was serious or not but I took it with a grain of salt since her family had recently arrived from Senegal (to Canada) and her mom had been dragging them to soup kitchens and Churches to get free stuff
Baby Spork has no heraldic device. Too young to receive it? I love Takeout’s argent, a fortune cookie gules in outline. And Teapot’s vert, a chalice in outline sable is a little obvious to me. Who is the Herald for the raccoons?
I sent feedback to GC earlier today about the outage. I got several replies. The first said:
“You’ve reached us while we’re out of the office in observance of Summer Holiday – possible delay in reply time.”
The second one said:
“\we are a very small team of hard-working staff and sometimes we need to take a break to ensure that we can provide you with the best support and attitude. To that end, it’s time for our equally small support team to get a well-deserved break from the computer. What this means is that the site will be monitored for serious issues, but emails will not be responded to until our support desk staff returns from vacation.”
It would be incredibly short sighted for the whole support staff to go on vacation at the same time unless, the whole support staff is one overworked person.
The third reply stated:
“I’m showing that this feature did update today, you may need to refresh your browser.”

Spork has taken a liking to Beatrix in the last panel :)
Also I’m glad for updates but it’s 6AM for us here in the Midwest ;)

Finally updated! I was getting concerned that we would be getting a repeat of the Great Outage of 2022. The Kits are so cute. Glad to see them.

If Princess Magazine, the one and only, can keep those 5 brothers in order, she will do well as the ruler of her people!

Good thing Baba is around, she can wrangle that many kits. I love the raccoon hugging Beatrix in panel 4!

Also, I love the parallelism of “the one and only” vs. “the many and plenty”. Lovely rhetorical phrasing device. My brain is happy.

That middle panel could be a family portrait of five adorable brothers, or maybe a lineup of the five usual suspects?
