I used to know a guy who lived near a golf course. He was always having to stop his lawn mower to pick up golf balls in his way.

Considering the bad weather lately, maybe now, the house is on the river.

The way the weather has been, now the river might be way too close to the house.

Punting can get a little out of hand when you get a pro punter. Punting on the Avon seems a lot classier than paddling on the Yellowstone.

If you didn’t want people to play through your backyard, then don’t buy a house next to the golf club.

Where we used to live there was a house very near the road we took on the way home or to work. It was below grade and on the outside of a curve. During our 15 years there, it was hit THREE TIMES by too-fast moving cars that didn’t make the corner. First time, it took out a bedroom (west-bound car) that hit ‘em in the morning. When they rebuilt, that room was turned into an office/den. Second one took out the garage (east-bound pickup truck) that hit ’em at about midnight. They rebuilt it. Third one took out the LR/Den that had once been a bedroom (west-bound pickup, also near midnight). The rebuilt it. After each rebuild… the owners sold to someone who was gutsier than they felt by then. I visited the area again about 2 years ago (and 35 after our last visit). That house had obviously been hit and renewed at LEAST one more time (same “den” room). There still was no barricade up beside the road, no change in the layout of the road. I presume that’s fallout from the extremely right-wing local government that doesn’t value human life as high as I do.
