Now imagine for a moment that he had a state appointed lawyer, black skin and no political connection. He’d have been in jail within minutes of when the warrant was served, as a “flight risk”.

But at least he’s been indicted by a process that’s not purely political, so I may hope he’ll be annoyed for as long as it takes to get it to SCROTUS where I’m reasonably sure, the fix is already in.

I’m betting that a red state repug governor would also pardon the orange scuzzbag. Reality Winner got 5 years for stealing one classified document under the Espionage Act. Who could’ve known lifetime criminals like Trump & Jared wouldn’t sell classified intel in broad daylight to Mohammed bin Salman for 2 billion dollars? And where is the classified document about Iran?

Former President Donald Trump’s disrespect for the security of classified information really amounts to a disrespect for the men and women behind that classified information who put their lives on the line for the country, argued former Bill Clinton Secretary of Defense William Cohen on CNN Friday.

This came after the release of the 37-count indictment against the former president secured by special counsel Jack Smith.

“When you read the transcript of the former president saying to a room full of just people who were there to hear from him and suck up to him, none of whom had security clearances, saying, you know, this is highly confidential, it’s secret. This is secret information. Look. Look at this, and showing them a document,” said anchor Anderson Cooper. “I mean, did you ever imagine a president, or somebody who had been president, would do that?”

“Well, Anderson, I felt that he was unfit to be president, unfit to be commander in chief, from the very beginning,” said Cohen. “I felt that initially and I didn’t vote for him, and I spoke out against him because I saw his character shining through, how he criticized John McCain not being a hero, how he embarrassed a reporter who had a disability, how he actually criticized a Gold Star family during a convention.”

To punish Hillary Trump changed the law about classified document mishandling to a felony punishable by 5 years in prison.

Asia Janay Lavarello, 32, was sentenced in the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii on February 10, 2022, by Chief U.S. District Court Judge J. Michael Seabright to three months of imprisonment and a $5,500 fine for knowingly removing classified information concerning the national defense or foreign relations of the United States and retaining it at an unauthorized location. Lavarello had pleaded guilty to the charge in July 2021.

According to information produced to the court, Lavarello, a Department of Defense employee, removed and retained numerous classified documents, writings, and notes relating to the national defense or foreign relations of the United States without authority. While working as an Executive Assistant at the United States Indo-Pacific Command in Hawaii, Lavarello accepted a temporary assignment working at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines. There, Lavarello had access to classified computers and documents, and attended classified meetings as part of her official duties. Court documents list several specific instances in which Lavarello mishandled classified material of the United States.

Reality Winner, Former N.S.A. Translator, Gets More Than 5 Years in Leak of Russian Hacking Report

Reality Winner, the former Air Force linguist and intelligence contractor who pleaded guilty in June to leaking a top-secret government report on Russian hacking, was sentenced on Thursday to five years and three months in federal prison.

Ms. Winner, 26, is the first person to be sentenced under the Espionage Act since President Trump took office. Prosecutors said her sentence was the longest ever imposed in federal court for an unauthorized release of government information to the media.

She was arrested in June 2017 and was held for more than a year while prosecutors built a case. She pleaded guilty in June 2018 to one felony count of unauthorized transmission of national defense information, for giving a classified report about Russian interference in the 2016 election to a news outlet.

Prosecutors said on Thursday that Ms. Winner’s actions merited a stiff sentence.

“Winner’s purposeful violation put our nation’s security at risk,” United States Attorney Bobby L. Christine told reporters after the sentencing in federal court in Augusta, Ga. He said the report she leaked revealed sources and methods of intelligence gathering, and its disclosure “caused exceptionally grave damage to U.S. national security.”

There are some out there that are trying to say that Biden “had” Trump arrested, much like Putin, Stalin or Hitler would have done to a political enemy.

If Biden were really, truly able to make such a thing happen Trump would not have spent the last two years in his own filthy, sweaty, fart filled bed in his home. He’d have been in a cell somewhere, locked away, after a show trial.

Biden is just a guy. A guy who has to follow the rules of his office. Everyone, even presidents have to follow the rules. A lesson Donald Trump has yet to learn.
