Thick cut, salt and vinegar are my favorite potato chip flavor, with sour cream and onion ruffle-style coming in at a close second …

We had a rug like that once. Unrolled it and…ugh! Took a week to air out.

Our boycat Scout liked to sink his teeth into the long edges of both our fabric shower curtain and the plastic liner—didn’t eat them, but did leave fang holes. Scout was also our plant eater—you had to keep an eye on any plant you pulled down from somewhere high when it needed watering ’cause Scout was quick as a flash about taking a bite. RIP, Scout. Miss you LOTS.

Mysteriously appearing new curtains that smell like vinegar and maple syrup? There’s something fishy going on around here. Fish and chips maybe?

Burt, you’re not here, you don’t know. Maybe they can eat the curtains. We’ll never know until some very brave cat tries.

It’s a book about suburban life, and raising five(?) best boys.

Ora would eat anything. Vinegary things tend to make all of my cats draw back and move away from the culprit. I can’t blame them, since I don’t like it either.

Over a decade ago we had Devlin. He was a beautiful polydactyl tabby cat. His claw and teeth marks are still in the top corner of some fabric blinds in our living room. (He climbed a bookshelf near by to reach it. I will get new blinds at some point, I swear! I smile when I see the marks and think of him.) Reading todays BCN, I now understand that maybe our blinds smelled as if they tasted good. Irresistible to any respectable cat!

Ugh! Hate the cheap fabrics from China. They all smell like chemicals/vinegar. Leave them out on the balcony for two or three days to air out.

Oddly, Loaner Cat doesn’t do this. She must have discerning tastes or she’s just not interested. OTOH, Thing 2 brought her bun, Penny’s, pee pads over a couple months ago so I could wash them when her washer/dryer died and they had to wait a week for theirs to be delivered. Unbeknownst to us, the lavender based detergent I use was too much for Penny to resist! While she really has no teeth left to speak of, she did a great job gumming them like mad, something she’d never done before. **Penny was part of a hoarding situation, kept in a barn and badly burned when the barn caught on fire. She’s had ongoing health problems since, thus the teeth problems.

Bartholomew likes to bite everything. He and Ora Zella have some qualities in common (although his fangs stick out like Iggy’s).

These curtains seem perfect for aging DadCats who want to show the youngsters “How its done!” scaling and climbing. ( Hopefully with no assist from the Woman necessary )

I’m fairly certain that lil’ Ora can show them all how to Parkour with the new curtains.

Those nice vinegar scented, buttery soft curtains can also be a real time saver! The mild vinegar can be an astringent and help keep young claws clean.

I’m sure it reminds the Jungle Panther of those spectacular sunrises in the Amazon.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Beatrixia: So we’ve met the principal characters. What’s next?

Elvis: That week the annual Yarn Ball took place. The social event of the season:

Puck Bingley: These are beautiful flower arrangements. Wonder who created them?

Sophie: I did. I’m the second oldest of Chef Tommy’s daughters. Art is my thing.

    Puck: You are very talented.

Sophie: Thank you. Whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?

Puck: I am Puck Bingley. Upstanding citizen and very rich.

Sophie: I think you’re very nice.

    *Enter Tabitha*

Tabitha: And where is your angry Siamese friend?

Elvis: Right here. And you are the one who served us our pizza, am I right?

Tabitha: Yes. Was something wrong with it?

Elvis: Not at all. But I saw a customer order a pizza with pineapple topping.

Tabitha: The customer is always right. It is our job to see that they receive what they want. No need to become like an angry sunflower over it.

Elvis: I am Siamese. It’s what I do.

Tabitha: (Actually, sunflowers are quite handsome flowers.)

One of the advantages of rural life, no neighbors near enough to see thru windows, so no need for curtains. Our screens are a bit worse for wear tho. We do have shades for those days when the sun is low in the sky and the trees are devoid of leaves but mostly we just enjoy all the natural light.

BTW, we are currently up at ‘the lake’ where connectivity is chancy and GoComics has been particularly weird with responding. I am sometimes unable to ‘like’ or to see replies. Or is this a more general problem here lately? Haven’t had the problem with other sites.

I actually haven’t introduced my cats. The first is cricket, a bengal, who likes to be literally insane at 2 am, like lupin. He also is very skeptical like Elvis. Then we have ruffio, who likes to meow at 2 am. He is more of a puck calm type.

I wonder if the People sprayed them with vinegar to protect them from catly activities. Could be worse: some synthetics are made with organic compounds that smell like fish …

I would’ve expected pink curtains (pink house after all)and a ham/bacon mania from the cats. Maybe a SPAM SPAM SPAM poster above The Man’s laptop

Do the new curtains have anything to do with the man being in charge, or are we done with that story line. I am trying to figure out if they are really curtains or something else. that just look like curtains to Puck.

We had a cat who went through a phase of chewing the bathroom rugs. They had bald patches. Fortunately it was just a phase.

Listen to Burt, Ora Zella. If you need help, ask Lupin to read for you. Although he is probably the other cat most likely to be in favor of curtain eating.
