It WAS a well understood code of conduct that was basically “do the right thing”. Since then, the meaning of “right” has been hijacked and altered beyond recognition.

A Supreme Court Justice is only as worthy as the people who put them there.

They hold to their internal moral code. Too many of them don’t have one.

Obvious lacks of morals and ethics were brought up and shown during the confirmation hearings however, those things were chosen to be ignored because the people who were supposed to care about those things didn’t. The confirmations were made based on politics instead of honesty, morals and integrity. The justices lied and nothing is being done about it.

We live in a loose leaf legal system, that’s lousy.

I’m sure SCORP (Submissive Court of the Republican Party) Chief Injustice Roberts has binders full of ethics.

The code of conduct interpreter here is Congress. The GQP has no morals.

Just like in our government, the “right” wing is destroying our legal system. America is rapidly become a sorry joke thank to these traitors.

It’s a good thing that GOD won’t allow the ghost of famous Americans to come back. If that happened, President Harry S. Truman would kick 42’s, 43’s and 45’s butt. He’d set them out for their conduct. Associate SCOTUS Thurgood Marshall, would wring Clarance Thomas’ neck. And U.S. Representatives Barbara Jordan & Shirley Chisom, would snatch Marjorie Taylor Green bald in both places!!

A code needs to be written. The court should be impartial!

Everyone has always known Clarence was corrupt, now we’re finding out just how corrupt.

You’ve got to start somewhere with a Code of Conduct. But I suggest bigger binders when you get around to Legislative and Executive branches.

It’s now clear that a majority of Supreme Court justices lied at their confirmation hearings on their opposition to Roe v. Wade, proving that they have no ethics.

Put people into a position that they know they will hold for life and expect them to NOT become corrupt?

It’s very educational, how right-wingnuts have abandoned all concept of norms and responsibility.

It’s a great pity their supporters have demonstrated an inability and unwillingness to learn.

(Would have said “a great shame,” but shame has long ago been discarded as a self-policing mechanism — now, their rule of conduct is “catch me if you can”.)

Uncle Thomas is just the latest symptom of the Conservative Cancer destroying America.

The biggest problem is that one of the “checks and balances” our government is supposedly made stronger for having refuses to check their power, and this throws off the balance of power. When the alleged chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee is calling for the Chief Justice to do something before he can formulate any type of response, of COURSE the Chief Justice is going to do nothing.

THAT’S WHY THE CHECKS AND BALANCES EXIST so that a wayward branch of government can be brought back to the fold instead of allowed to run amok. If they care about holding onto power more than preserving the system that provides them their power, then they are in the wrong line of work.
