New Zealand, Canada, Portugal.
I’m busy plotting my escape out of this country. Getting my affairs in order and duffle packed in anticipation of the borders eventually opening. I am glad for the current administration, but with a large cross section of the population longing to turn America into a new version of 1940’s Germany, not feeling particularly safe. Other nations have their problems, but some seem much more dedicated to democracy and the welfare of their citizens than what I experience here.
Could have been much, much worse if he was watching Faux Spews…
Nazis never change. They just wear different clothes and use different soundbites.
Ah, the Watergate years. A few critical differences. A population not so much brainwashed by Faux Spews, Lindberger, and the like. Our lives, media, and politics not controlled as much by a manipulative Plutocracy. Nixon actually resigned in no small part due to pressure the public put on Congress, not because Rethugs had any real heartburn over the idea of “if the president does it, it’s not illegal”. The facist goals of the rethugican party has ever been the same through the decades, which is remarkably similar to the Nazis. Absolute power by any means concentrated into a single male figure or small leadership group. Absolute control of the daily lives and thoughts of the people. Elimination of a race, people, and/or religion as an unifying goal. Bringing back a fantasy of a once-utopia where the master race and religion flourished in a golden age. Now the masks of “family values, god and country, and constitutional rule of law” are finally peeled off. It didn’t take courage to pretend to give a damn about democracy back then, just gile. Today it’s a coup waiting to happen.
Eliminate “attempted” from the criminal code then. If you don’t successfully rob, rape, murder, etc., you get off scott free! /s
Cries of the future mob.. “Universal health care for all!, Affordable higher education!!, No more tax cheating billionaires!!!”, OH, the horror, the horror. /s
Wow, reads like something from “This Modern World” by Tom Tomorrow.
The new craze replacing “Where’s Waldo”, “Find the Qbert’s Qrap”.
He won’t complain. HAPPY BEST of DAYS, John.
