Sure… because Luann just rips out guys hearts for fun?? Give me a break, Tara! Luann would be one of the nicest and most harmless girls Piro could EVER hope to meet.

It’s interesting how Tara has changed from Piro’s story is “Wow!, intense, sad” to “I don’t really know him.. he’s kinda damaged.” I think Tara should let Luann do what she feels is appropriate in regards to Piro.

It’s almost insulting, with how incredible Luann has been to Tara, to think she would believe Luann may hurt him.

How could Piro (and Tara) possibly damage Luann?

Well, somebody in this conversation is damaged goods. . . .

Well, I guess the poor guy is kinda damaged. Looks like he took a live grenade to the side of his head, and when it went off, the blast and metal shrapnel left that funny star mark on the side of his head. And he does not hear in stereo any more.

Tara might be onto something. Luann can complicate an easy situation and definitely make a complex situation much worse. On the bright side, Luann would do less harm than Bernice who would try to use her amateur psychology skills to help “Walt”. Luann knows Bern had a thing for this guy so that does feed her curiosity quite a bit so it is unlikely that Tara will succeed in keeping Luann at bay. Best scenario, Luann asks Piro/Walt what message he wanted her to convey to Bern. That will get her foot in the door without being intrusive.

I see Tara point Luann could make things worse as these two get to know each other better.

Luann is the type to bombard a person with questions. Tara knows enough about her cousin to know he is fragile.

One of the biggest themes in rip roaring romantic drama is the tension that love and desire can bring; here the two totally opposite characters could tear each other apart romantically because of their 360 degree life difference. Tara might be half right.

Now I don’t know where this story is going anymore. I thought Tara had a better reason for her behavior.

Bernice has Nil and Luann is ready for PIro/Walt Starr.

He doesn’t seem to be looking for any type of relationship and LuAnn definitely wants a relationship.

Yesterday I thought Tara was overprotective, but I have to say I like the way she’s explaining to Luann why she’s doing this. She doesn’t want to stop her from talking to Piro, but she understood that things have to be explained to her, because Luann isn’t used to talking to someone who comes from a really difficult situation. I think Tara is doing a good job both as a cousin and as a friend. Now if Luann decides to go and talk to Piro, she will do it with the necessary tact to not annoy him and to really start their friendship in the best way possible.

Kinda hard for me to relate to all of this fascination with a fairly boring character.

After the way Luann treated Quill, I would have to agree.

Sure, Luann may not be “perfect” but she ain’t Tara. And for the life of Me, I can’t see how a steady dose of Tara is going to help Walt, “family” or no “family.”

Maybe, just MAYBE, Walt might benefit from exposure to a fairly stable home environment. And if you recall, Walt responded well to Bernice’s “kindness.”

Tara is right. Luann does have a bad case of “foot in mouth disease”. She tends to do more damage than good. BTW…WHY the constant “bold face” in your comments? It makes no sense at all. Rather irritating, to be honest. Since you do not know Luann as you claim, she does have a habit of sticking her nose into other people’s business and make things worse. She doesn’t mean to, she just does it.

Wow, Piro has received more development in this current arc than Pru got in the years before she was put on the Delta Bus out of Pittsville.

It;s interesting that both Tara and Piro have divorced them selves from the Mooney U. crowd. Piro interacted with Bernice, Tiffany and probably Gunther and Dez there. GnK are trying to slide him into the Pitts C.C. world, which is mostly populated by Luann and Bernice with Nancy and Tara providing impetus for new arcs lately.

There must be some purpose for this. Jack and Nil have faded badly in this part of Luanniverse. Young males have become scarce. Piro is being portrayed as a basket case by Tara. Quo Vadis,Creators???

It’s almost like some kind of sickness that Luann wants him. Ewww! You don’t see her acting like that around other guys. I think it is time for Quill to return as a better version of himself. Why is Luann so obsessed with this distant, silent, dark sulking character.

Piro and Luann are both adults. They can form whatever type of relationship they both agree on. Neither Luann nor Piro need to be protected.

Again, gotta go with Tara on this. Luann’s new target may be Piro, but if what Tara is implying is true, Piro is not the trusting type and Luann’s personality will only make it worse (unintentionally). Piro needs to fix up himself before he lets any more people into his life. Damaged people may be alone, but don’t confuse it for lonely. Some people thrive better if they’re solo for some time. Remember: What works for you doesn’t always work for others.

Better listen Luann. Tara is an expert at leaving a wake of destruction in her path.

Well of course, Luann – IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU!!

It’s amazing but I’m already bored with seeing Luann in the comic strip. Maybe it’s her eyes, or her hair, or her nose, or maybe it’s the way she ALWAYS acts like a sniveling little self-centered spoiled brat…yeah, I think that’s it.

And thank you Greg and Karen for introducting yet another character from yet another dysfunctional family. I guess being so predictable takes a certain amount of work and imagination….NOT.

I gotta agree with Tara: Piro has enough problems and doesn’t need sexual frustration added to the mix. And how would he react to finding out that he’s expected to put whatever goals he has on hold in order to cater to Luann’s constant neediness?

Codependency Alert!

Luann comes from such a normal family that she is probably not ready for Piro’s family. And if she involves herself with Piro, the family is in there too. Luann is very superficial. While she is thinking about how to get Piro, she is not thinking about what has Piro become.

Just once I would like to see the other side of these “we’re so damaged” stories. Did Bernice constantly give her mother a hard time? Did Bets open her oh-so-smart mouth once too often? Did Piro get kicked out of the house because he stole money or used drugs? We know what Gunther’s problem is, and Tara said she ran to escape her cousin Stella. To me, Les is the only one with a valid claim to the “damaged” title but he’s the most mature kid in the bunch. Bunch of bananas, that is, LOL!

The sad part is she’s not wrong…. I mean in how Luann’s approaching him now. From what I can tell most of Luann’s past dating history falling apart is either pining after someone who wasn’t intrested in her (Aaron Hill, someone who fit terribly (Elvis and Ben aka Captain Statutory), and of course Quill who screwed it up all on his own. So if that’s what their going for it’s wrong.. but if it’s “Your approaching him because he’s dark and mysterious and that’s messed up after everything he’s been through” then yeah. It is. It’s one thing if she’s intrested in him as a person but just wanting him because he’s got baggage is stupid and she needs to stop that now. I’ll give the evanses credit though for bringing luann back to center in an intresting way. What she’s doing is stupid.. but she’s also 19-20. It’s a relatable stupid.

Tara is judging Luann by herself. Luann’s sweetness carries over to anyone she meets.

@lvlax Luann was mean to Gunther in her terrible teens. I haven’t seen her like that since then. In recent years she’s been really sweet. If Piro has no dark deed in the past that must remain secret, then maybe her plan is worth a shot. Mainly, Luann needs to curb her enthusiasm, stay cool and give Piro a comfortable time to respond. Although an interesting twist idea – next lunch after Piro sits down, Lu grabs Piro’s lunch tray and starts eating his lunch – sitting next to him very, very close. Maybe a risk taking ice breaker. Hopefully Piro has a sense of humor somewhere – that would help a lot with Luann.

Wow! It’s kind of crazy that GnK have such a low opinion of Luann to make Tara bust out that line. Like she thinks Luann is a disaster. I mean, her breakup with Quill was pretty forced but she’s not exactly a heartbreaker who gets a high from messing with guys.

Luann is self absorbed. That will hurt him whether she intended it to or not.

It would be nice if Luann had a real friend. B thinks she herself is superior to Luann, and now Tara (who has been a lot of trouble herself) figures that Luann will only cause cousin Walt some harm. Is there anyone in this unilverse who likes Luann at all?

What if he’s not ready for a change or a “real friend”. Good intentions don’t always work out.

We joke about how Luann’s love life is the “Pitts” but yet, her “friendships” are worse. Luann finds Pirro’s complicated life intriguing. She probably thinks she can fix him.

Luann is way out of line to be actively trying to pursue Piro (especially in the middle of class, sheesh!) But he’s a big boy and can take care of himself. Tara is out of line acting like the guardian of a 10-year-old. If I had ever been in a similar situation and found out a cousin (or a sibling) had “protected” me when I was college age, I would have been insulted!

Heed Tara’s words of wisdom, Luann! This is your only chance to behave properly. Otherwise, just go ahead and make a fool of yourself again….

So… what’s in Piro’s note to Bernice??

Looks like we won’t have to be concerned about Luann hurting Piro. He’s clearly not interested in her. I wonder if Bernice will start feeling something for Piro again, when she learns Luann is hot for him.
