Wow, this so cool! So the 3 cats after Tilly who Freddie had as pets were all rescues of one sort or another. I bet Admiral Whiskers and Carl probably have amazing stories to tell as well. Hopefully we can hear about them in the future. Poor Jane, looks like she arrived at Freddie’s on April 3 and started her diary and then posted again on the 11th, now it is the 22nd and she is still under the bureau. Sophie must feel so connected with Lady Jane. Wonderful arc so far!
Isn’t there a Captain Whiskers on Our Nine Lives. Maybe one of the writers knew Winfred Quinn and put Captain Whiskers in as a character on Our Nine Lives in Tribute
The art here is absolutely gorgeous. Just truly stunning stuff and this story is truly heartwarming. I also love the design for Lady Jane now we can see it a bit clearer up close in the last strip.
As a heads up for anyone who dosen’t follow Georgia on twitter or instagram, if you go to either the BCN ingstagram or twitter (Or georgia’s twitter) for Hourly Comic Day she did a biographical comic following her day. Besides just being neat, you can also see some neat stuff since it’s based on a real day. As such Elvis is visably older, as are the children and their neat designs to see. Their’s also the really heartwrenching/heartwarming sight of Lupin’s ghost.
April 22nd: Each day feels a bit better. Freddie is nice. She visits the bureau and brings food. Yum!
I have met the other cats who live in this large, rosey(sic) home. Carl lived with a young neighbor of Freddie Quinn’s who went a big war and never came back.
Admiral Whiskers lived on a fishing boat as a “mouser” but he kept befriending the mice. The Captain said he was no sea cat. Freddie suggested he might make an excellent house cat.
is it just me, or doesn’t that food left out look like donuts? and I love the press tag in Carl’s hat. a real throwback! Admiral Whiskers turned out to be more lap cat than attack cat. sounds like a big ball of cuddly fur!
Beatrixia: We were able to find out a little bit about the Academy of Really Neat Stuff. It was quite prestigious. Today it is the Punn State University School of Really Neat Stuff. And still has quite a reputation.
Sophititi: Maybe we can pay the Alumni Office a visit. Do we know anyone from the University?
Bea: We have four distinguished alumni from the School of Cheesetaking.
Sometime Later
Bea: Thanks for the favor, ladies. We owe you four.
Agnes-Ata: No problem, Bea. We love an opportunity to visit our alma mater. You can return the favor by buying us ice cream at the Punn State Creamery.
Maat-Tilda: Did Elvis-Anum find out any more from Jamila’s diary? And how did it get sent to him in the first place?
Bea: Not sure. Let’s get some tea and scones and find out.
“A friend of Freddie Quinn’s who went to the Big War and never came back” and I burst into tears. I have no idea why this affected me so this morning, but I am just bawling here. Georgia pushed my baggage button big time today :(
I am a little uncertain on the timeline. Would two long cat lives lead all the way back from the time of Baba Mouse to World War II? I suppose so. Lady Jane’s final statement really hits home for me. Sharing stories is the absolute best way to connect with anyone, it is one of my favorite things.

Hey, everyone! I am writing a journal that will have studies on fictional supernatural creatures like in Gravity Falls. The journal will be about an anonymous author who travels around the world studying strange creatures that are known as “Superstition” I need ideas for creatures and places, any ideas?
A sad groundhog day in Quebec—their local predictor, Fred la marmotte, was found deceased in his burrow a few hours before his scheduled appearance today. Officials said perhaps Fred passed away late last year during hibernation. I suspect that maybe in future they won’t wait until last minute to check on the next Fred…
I think Lady Jane’s eyes are gorgeous, a beautiful golden yellow. The cast of her eyes is appropriate, lids slightly lowered as she concentrated on her thoughts (and probably disregarding the ink spots on her chin and left cheek. I had a cat we called Jane or Janie, but when she was a shade under a year old I snapped a photo of her sitting so regally in the window, looking down at me like I was a servant to be dismissed ‘cause she wanted her space we started calling her ’My Lady Jane’ when asked her name.

Yes, still in the “glad to have a place to live “ stage of the story. But soon we will see hints of the Terrible Secret.

I see words of old
Drawings too
I hear Sophie read them
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful tale
I see cats Jane’s met
With eyes so bright
The light blessed way
Sophie found them tonight
And I think to myself
What a wonderful tale
The colors of cat etchings
So pretty of each waif
And the care expressed
So they all felt warm and safe
I see cats in shelter
As Freddie Quinn would do
Her way of saying
“I love you”
I heard Sophie cry
Now she’s aglow
Jane’s helped her more
Than she’ll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful tale
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful tale
Ooh, yes
