Given that she smokes a lot, she probably won’t live to retirement.

Poor teacher. And many countries want to increase the age when you can officially retire.

I honestly don’t understand how he thinks being Stupendous Man will help him with his test in the first place. Does Stupendous Man also have stupendous academic skills?

You should only have Calvin for one year. Not every year. But since he never ages in this comic you will be stuck with him forever. You will never retire and you will never be rid of Calvin.

In Texas teachers can under the rule of 80=age+years of service=80, then they get 2.3% x years of service x highest average salary.

Five years until retirement. Best of luck Mrs. Wormwood. I hope your state doesn’t decide to shift your medical insurance costs to you as a thank you for all your years of service.

Miss Wormwood sure looks like she has more than the requisite maximum 30 years of teaching behind her or (more likely) it’s just aged her prematurely.

I am not an old woman. However, I am an old man, and as an elementary school teacher, I totally identify with Ms. Wormwood. However, my mantra is a bit more optimistic: “FIVE DAYS TO RETIREMENT!”
