Many years ago, when I was in Navy Electronics Technician training, I wrote a letter home to my parents (yes, it was that long ago), telling them that we were learning soldering. My Dad wrote back to tell me that Mom had been worried because she read it as “soldiering”.
I’m sorry but this is offensive to me as it disrespects the tomb of the unknown soldier. Grammatically, it would be solderer because solder is just metal and wouldn’t need a tomb. In my opinion, this is a swing and a miss.

The mask ensures that the solder remains unknown.

If it was pure tin he’d have whiskers, but I guess those would be hard to see with that face shield on.

He should still get his metal of honor.

Arcs are really bad for electronics. Joey, have you ever seen a fully charged capacitor explode when suddenly shorted?

I spent way too long trying to understand what “We’ll never know F or sure.” meant. Like, is F some soldering term/rating/something.

wouldn’t that be the unknown solderer

Cultural query – pronounce the ‘L’ in solder, or not? I’m a NOT.
