First base if they’re ripping him off from Sean “The Mayor” Casey.

I’m stumped trying to think of what expert advice anyone would want from Kaz. Where to get a lame tattoo? Who his steroid connection is? How to latch on as the assistant to someone powerful so that you can just hang around and get paid for doing nothing?

And speaking of doing nothing, why are you sitting around doing nothing when you could be reading today’s Mopped Up Thorp?

Just like Sean Casey, the original.

Ah ha ha. Although to be fair, it looks like he’s just stopping by his office, not class. Now why would you go to Kaz for advice?

Deke Davey vs. Pirate Radio: This game appeared to be a mismatch, with Deke claiming to know everything there is to know about coaching, and Pirate Radio being proud to not know a damn thing about basketball. Their witty banter throughout the game entertained even more that the game itself. Pirate Radio keeps it within 6, but can’t pull the upset.

    Deke Davey 58 – Pirate Radio 52

Chet Ballard vs. Marty Moon: This one was expected to be lopsided. Chet came into this game a 20 point favorite, but needed a big comeback to pull it out. Marty held a 13 point lead at halftime, and seemed on his way to a big upset. However, Chet’s stealing of Marty’s game plan during halftime turned this game around. Also, Marty’s constant “hydrating” from his sippy cup seemed to drain all his energy in the second half. He also was heard mumbling “Holly! Holly!” throughout the last 8 minutes. Chet hits a 3 with 4 seconds left and survives.

    Chet Ballard 70 – Marty Moon 68

Hobart vs. Keegan Hershey: A real nail biter, as this game went back and forth all night. Hobart tries to intimidate the referees by implying he can get their salaries cut. This just leads to a flurry of foul calls, putting the favorite in foul trouble early. After it being tied at the half, Keegan holds on late when he implies a major wardrobe malfunction happening with the cheerleaders, distracting Hobart just enough to miss his 15 footer that would have won the game.

Parker Bowen vs. Central City Thugs: This game was not expected to be competitive, and it wasn’t. The Thugs trailed by 8 at halftime, and then were late returning back to the court for the second half. Security footage analyzed later found the Thugs in the parking lot, disabling any car they found with a Milford parking sticker on it. The 12 technical foul shots put this game out of reach, with Parker delivering an impressive onslaught of homophobic slurs against the Thugs that lasted the entire final 3 minutes of the game.

Parker Bowen 77 – Central City Thugs 59

News Media vs. Koy Nash: The News Media seemed more concerned about digging up dirt on True Standish at Wake Forest than about concentrating on their opponent. Koy Nash repeatedly slapped their notebooks out of their hands, then stole the ball for layups to pull off the minor upset.

    Koy Nash 66 – News Media 51

AA’s Ma’s Boss vs. Max Bacon: Aaron’s Mom’s Boss was ripe for an upset, as he was so stingy that he wouldn’t spring for uniforms, practice time, or even a ball. Regardless, the team was able to put up a good fight before fading at the end. Max never seemed to get tired, as he used every timeout to seem to take some kind of supplement. Max moves on.

Results from the Gil Coaching Region Round 1 games!

Marty Moon vs. Terry Gallagher: Marty appeared to take offense at not being granted one of the highest seeds for this tournament, and took it out on poor Terry. On the other hand, Terry spent half his time on offense chatting up the cheerleaders. Down 18 at the half, it never got better. He did get 3 phone numbers however.

    Marty Moon 79 – Terry Gallagher 39

Joe Bollek vs. TCFS Girls: A huge upset in this region! Bollek seemed to have a huge advantage over the egotistical TCFS girls, but it did not go as expected. Early on in the game Bollek thought it would be hilarious to get out his tiny paint brush and pretend to paint the baseline under his basket. This went on so long that by the time he got back to the game, he was down 52-4. Once he started playing he dominated, but it was too little too late. The button girls move on.

    TCFS Girls 81 – Joe Bollek 60

This guy would be headed towards a high seed in the Villains/Annoying Tournament, if it would have been done after this season.

Speaking of the tournament, voting is open for the second round in the Keri Thorp Region. Looks like some good matchups. Cast your votes here:

So, I’m sure we’ll find out within the next 25 strips, but why is Mike nicknamed, “The Mayor”? And it’s not because he’s really the Mayor of Milford. My guess is it’s because he mayor maynot be a typical ridiculous Milford jock.
