Oh, for freaks sakes! Bets doesn’t know a vegetable is? That would be understandable with Tiffany because she lives in an ivory tower but Bets? Hasn’t she ever gone grocery shopping? Hasn’t she ever cooked a meal for herself? You can’t do these things without at least recognizing some vegetables. For an independent woman there is a vast hole in her general knowledge.

Secondly, what is Leslie doing with a box of Dez’s vegetables? Dez offered some of her garden’s produce for his cooking but why would she give him everything and why would he take more than he needs? And if he has left-overs he ought to give them back to Dez so she can enjoy them.

There is so much that is wrong with today’s strip that I have to scream. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!@#$$#$%!

Wonderful. Two species that have no idea of edibles that don’t come frozen in plastic wrap.

Will Gunther ride to the rescue once again? Does he have a self made comicon chef outfit? Is the Gulag in dire danger from conflagration? Will the ill met trio switch to a food podcast? Don’t Bets on it!

Nabisco Easy Cheese. A staple in most dorm rooms or college gulags. I was partial to the sharp cheddar myself, it used to be good on the Winn-Dixie Georgia or Ritz crackers when you wanted a change from the Maruchan Ramen noodles…….

Uh oh. Dez has accidentally given out Lovecraftian mutant plants, even a young adult can tell they’re not vegetables. You guys should not eat that stuff. It might turn you into fish people or something.

David DanielsLove to see Bets and shortly I am sure Gunther. Looks likethey might connect with Tiffany and Dez. Bets business acumen and social media experience and smarts, Tiffany’s marketing, Dez’s produce, her willingness being a question, and TJ’s cooking could add up to something, and Les and Gunther being in this part if the universe. I guess this will have to do for my wish that Bet’s is making breakfast in th Gulag, or padding out of Gunther’s bedroom in her robe, but this is promising.

Les and Bets are friends, and that’s nice. Bets is looking at the weird vegetables with interest… maybe she’ll make the same mock biz plan Tiffany is making and the two will become rivals? Or will they do it in pairs? RIVALS! RIVALS! RIVALS!!!! And Gunther will find himself between all that mess!

Really rude. Now I know that the person who is writing the story line for this comic strip is completely out of touch with any concept of correct behavior. If I was Dez and found out that TJ gave away the veggies I grew like some kind of “leftovers” I would be really upset. And Bets…doesn’t know what a vegetable is…really? But wait, the more I think about it, this is exactly correct behavior for the majority of todays young people who are stupid, ignorant, spoiled, lazy, inconsiderate and self absorbed.

What Betts is holding is actually a tomato. Not all tomatoes are large and red. I grow Tom Thumb and cherry tomatoes. Some are always yellow and shaped like a pear. There are many varieties of mini tomatoes. My dachshund loves tomatoes and picks them herself, but only when they are ripe. She never touched them before they are ripe. She has a discriminating palate. lol

If they think a box of veggies still with dirt on them is weird, they need to go see where the meat they eat comes from.

Sounds as though Les brought the veggies to K2 and shared with Les and Gunther. From the leaves, it looks like a radish and maybe a small yellow tomato in the third panel. My son plants a garden each year and orders unusual seeds online. Some crop looks strange, but tastes great! If Bets is a city girl, or she’s used to seeing red veggies, she might be puzzled. ;-)

Most of the characters seem strangely spaced-out over the past few weeks. Is it the separation from reality due to Covid-19, or a commentary on today’s younger folk in general?

Leslie Knox, the professional dishwasher, the son of a professional grifter, living rent-free, Tiffany’s platonic friend brings home a box of weird food that he received from TJ so that Bets, Gunther’s trophy girlfriend, can be included in a Desdemona and TJ storyline of passionate culinary experiences.

    Beware, Bets!

TJ took some of the fruit of the Garden of Eatin’ and disappeared mid-story.

Tiff partook of the fruit of the Garden of Eatin’ and has disappeared mid-story.

The person tending the Garden of Eatin’ has disappeared mid-story and been downgraded to a “someone”.

If you and Gun partake of the Fruit, you may be banished mid-story as well.

    Leslie Knox is appalling.

But this puts me in mind of the Olden Times, hiking about the overseas countryside, with a lunch in my knapsack consisting of bread, a bottle of the local wine (twist-off cap variety), a tomato and /or an apple, and a tube of “squeeze cheese,” a handy portable commodity from the local supermarket back in the Big City (roughly the size of a large tube of toothpaste)….
