Trump is a scared, pathetic little man hiding in his bunker. He continues to place new fencing and barricades around fortress White House. I think he’s having his Nixon “the walls are closing in” moment. Because of those “terrorist” protesters he had to cancel his golf weekend. I’m sure Lincoln and Churchill would have done the same thing.
This is only tangential to the cartoon topic, but I tire of giving Donald Trump matters space in my head. And Father’s Day is close, so …
My father was third child in a large family during the Great Depression. He left school at age 14 to do various odd jobs. Among them, he scavenged items from the alleys in town: wood scraps for the stove, metal to sell to the junk man, furniture that could be fixed and reused. None of it brought in all that much money, but it helped the family somewhat. He took more conventional jobs later, until at age 17 he hired into one that lasted 46 years.
He kept his Depression mentality all his life, and continually gathered what we considered junk. It was both funny and irritating to us kids, and certainly to my mother. He wasn’t a neurotic hoarder; but his stuff took up a lot of space in the garage and basement. It wasn’t junk to him, but “parts” for future use: screws, bolts, and nuts of all sizes; old tools; knives, big and small; wiring, switches, and small motors; old radios; and innumerable odds-and-ends.
He felt security in having those things, and sometimes they were useful. We could not have anything new unless the old, worn-out item couldn’t be fixed: new things were to him wasteful luxuries.
The Point: Whenever he felt unhappy or put-upon, he’d retreat to the garage or basement to peruse his stuff. Alone among his junk treasures, he’d find a sort of comfort. We kids called those stashes his underground “Junker” or “Mom Shelter.” Sometimes we went with him to listen to him explain what he had, like a curator in his museum.
Most of that stuff was offered in garage sales, or discarded into three big dumpsters when my parents moved to a condo. I know my father felt as if part of his life was thus discarded, too. He would have been one hundred years old this Father’s Day.

Trump has surrounded the White House with armed brown shirts.
Trump has done a hostile takeover of the country, he just hasn’t told us yet.
Barr is Attorney General, why is he leading an army of Magas and Blackwater?
Are these hostile forces being paid with our tax dollars?
China hater Trump has turned Lafayette Square into Tiny Man Square.

Storm: an Analogy – {limerick}

to elude the storm’s reproaches.

His Tenure We Ought to Abort – {4 beats/line, then 3}
Trump is panicked by his losing support
‘cause his ways with democracy don’t comport:
√ He plays his politics as a contact sport;
√ He makes his White House a fort
and √ builds up his armed escort;
√ In LOTSA ways he falls short.
… Coda: – {4 beats/line}
The Donald’s tenure we ought to abort,
and his base and minions we ought to deport.
