Elvis and Lupin should have cool badges, too! Elvis, of course, needs one for being Best Dad, and Lupin could have special glow in the dark medal for being fantastically invisible … or maybe something else?
I’m up so late I’ve already seen tomorrow’s BCN, yikes! I’ve been playing on Ancestry where they are letting people see the international records for free in May. Finally a peek at all the U.K. Censuses!
Oh, frabjous day, my friends and fellow orbsters. Paul is finally home from the hospital. Radiation treatment can be given here in Barrie, so he has agreed to go through with it. His treatments start next Tuesday. We both hope that the treatments will be successful and will buy him another year or so. His body is too fragile right now to try chemo. We are getting wonderful support from a community health service. I came home with two boxes of supplies and a pole to hang his feeding bag (really, I told the hospital that I could have MacGyvered something with a clothes hanger and the curtain rods!). I am going to be trained on how to prepare his feeding bags; a nurse will visit once a week to monitor Paul’s weight and overall health, the doctor said she will make house calls if Paul doesn’t feel up to travelling, and he will get visits from a PSW twice weekly to help with bathing, shaving, etc…, and give me a much-needed insanity break.
Badges? We don’t need no stinking badges do we Lupin!
Off Topic: This is silly, a few weeks ago I wrote something about learning and it was in reference to my daughter. A couple of you commented that you liked it and now I want to use that statement in my book about Belle Kitten and learning.
BUT I CAN’T FIND IT***
Do any of you remember when I posted that? If so, please give me the date. I should have written it in my journal, but alas, I’m a idiot.
Today, is the first full day back at the office after working from home for about 8 weeks. We are spread out enough that I hope its safe. The big issue would be bringing something home to my 87 year old father. There are no easy answers, are there?
Thanks to the commenter who mentioned Laurie King and the Mary Russell series. Turns out that TCPL and NYPL have tons of her e-books. Now here’s a question: Does it matter greatly if one were to read them out of order? For example, there’s a six-week wait for book 1, but book 2 is ready now.
Our tuxedo cat, Patchouli, known as Patches, was an excellant Father and Grandfather to the rest of our cats, as they came along. He mothered them to pieces. On a diff’ note: the hubs’ work place was deemed essential, so they did all they could to disinfect, social distance, etc. They shut down yesterday; 5 cases have been verified. And, the hubs is one of them…he seems to have the mild form, but, we are only 2 days into him having it and 1 day into his formal diagnosis. Yikes!!! A lil panicky, here. God Bless Us Every One!!!
I was reading the comments for 5/3 today (which is 5/5) and the Reply I was writing froze up, and I had to refresh the page, and then when I got back to the comments, that whole section had disappeared. I know people were talking about 5/3’s wonky comments on 5/3, and I just want to say that they are still being wonky on 5/5. grumble grumble,
I, too echo the others. Please take care of yourself. This is good news. I can hear how excited you are. It will be a long haul, yes, but you both will come out of this. Many prayers coming your way.
Happy Cartoonist Day Georgia! You have no idea how much I enjoy reading your strip, and you definitely should be recognized for your beautiful portrayal of life with out cats and family. Thank you!

From Andrew Lloyd Webber: Whistle Down the Wind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhr9e7lNRHs
Meow to the wind,
Nothing to be afraid of,
You are kind and brave,
A cat who’s not afraid
To show what she is made of!
…….
Meow at the stars,
Show them what you’re feeling,
Run all over now,
Show them how to make,
A floor from a ceiling,
…….
Bring us so much joy,
Mom to the Girl and Boy,
You will always do so fine,
Ignore the finish line,
You are differently able,
And still the best to climb!
…….
Tho’ sometimes you may poof,
And get stuck in what you’re doing,
You try to be aloof,
But your love is there in truth,
A heart of gold you’re showing,
…….
Every purr and mew you send
The Orb will be your friend,
Always.
…….
So three guys and a girl,
We are all so glad
You’re here!

HEY FOLKS! Does everyone know Georgia posted a notice kinda late yesterday?
There’s 2 YouTube events coming up – one Wednesday afternoon, and the other on Friday.YAY!!
I can’t remember the details, but if you go back, the “creator’s post” is always highlighted, so easier to find.
To all those who DID see it, maybe someone who gets here early could post a reminder early tomorrow, for any my and Georgia’s later posts have missed?
Just a thought.Thanks!!!
