Back on February 6th we watched China build hospitals because of coronavirus. They weren’t keeping it a secret, while the rightwing news called it a Democrat hoax to bring down the president. Now Trump has to find someone to blame, as he says, “I don’t take responsibility.”
Gorrell is just echoing the Orange Pustule’s attempt to make it not my fault because ☞THEY did it. It’s stupid, it’s divisive, it’s unhelpful, and it’s wrong. Which pretty much defines this administration and it’s supporters.
It may have started in China, but it’s Trump’s and the right wing media’s fault that it spread in the US. They downplayed the seriousness of the disease and called it a Democratic hoax. Thanks Gorrell.
Between what the Chinese government official said and how Trump keeps responding, it’s like watching five-year olds argue on the playground.
No one even tries to be a mature adult or to take the high ground. Trump and his ilk represent the absolute worst of human nature. This is why nationalism is simply wrong.
In what way does this correct the problems of not being adequately prepared to handle a pandemic that has been predicted for years? You may want to read this article before you start another hateful misinformed xenophobic tirade.

And based on the latest data suggesting a significant number of early cases of coronavirus without links to the Huanan Seafood Market, several infectious disease experts have raised doubts about whether the market was the source of the novel coronavirus at all.
May I suggest that everyone “unfollow” this creep? His bigotry is more virulent than the virus. I refuse to support this kind of stupidity and nastiness. BYE… I am suggesting that everyone else do the same. The sooner he loses his followers, the sooner he might get dropped. The world already has enough problems without him adding to them…
This is vile and simply doing what Trump cultists do best — shift blame. Regardless of where this virus originated or how other countries responded to it, the fact remains that the state department and the CDC had people in China in December looking at this virus — and they told the Fed that it was very bad. In spite of that, this president and his administration spent two months pretending it wasn’t real. THAT is on him and on him alone.
I began calling it the Wuhan Flu in January; Covid-19 was one of three names used and became the nom de maladie. Just as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Legionnaire’s were in no way disparaging to western residents or veterans, neither was Wuhan Flu meant disparagingly but for clarity (there are numerous covid viruses. Sadly, Trump and his minions have tried to create disease names to intentionally demean people, in this case the people of a nation. Because of intentional xenophobia pursued by Trump, Grassley, Cornyn, Gorrell and their ilk, l will simply call it the flu from now on.
And.. especially thank trump and Fox News for denying the seriousness for several months as well. Thank trump for disbanding the Obama team. Thank some wizard in the trump team that decided not to use existing tests but opt instead to favor an American company. Thank trump.. as you and your family gets sick for lack of.. everything.
Actually, Mr. Gorrell, it might’ve started there, but we wouldn’t be where we are today in the U.S.A. if the President* hadn’t taken the steps he’d taken. It’s not a China-disease. Let’s lay our discomfort at the feet of the deserving: it’s “The President*’s Disease.”
Let us once more indulge Gorrell in his racist, bigoted, right-wing self-righteous cartoon editorializing. In his eyes, that is what American is all about.
That goes way beyond a dog whistle. Gorrell is whistling Dixie. Oh, and while you’re at it, Bob, advocate for the return of the Exclusion Act. I’m guessing there won’t be very many newspapers picking up this one. The editors have better sense than the cartoonist.
